Legends of Mount Abu

Many Legends are said about mount of the story goes like once a Naga called Arbuda saved the Nandi life (vahana of Lord Shiva) at this mountain. Hence in ancient times, people use to call this mountain Arbudaranya mountain in recent times it is renamed, Mount Abu. Another story is that once the great saga Vasishtha performed a Yajna to save earth from evil people. From the blessing of God, a person arose from the divine Homa Kund his name is Aganivanshi Rajput.

The main activities at the place are Trekking and Jeep safari. If you plan for jeep safari the cost for the safari is 300 rupees per person where you need to pay 50 rupees for entry inside the park. The cost of safari varies based on the season. The favorable season to visit this Sanctuary is winter months. Are you a wildlife lover? then you should visit this place in the morning where you can have a sight of some leopard, wild boars, some sloth bears, and sambar.

Arbuda Devi Temple

Arbuda Devi temple is a popular temple located near Mount Abu dedicated to Goddess Parvathi Devi. During the Navaratri thousands of devotees visit this sacred place. This temple as 365 steps to climb to reach the temple. Some devotees believe each step represents a day in a year.

Dilwara Temple

This famous temple date back to the 11th and 13th centuries. The amazing stone carving and the Rajasthan style architecture allures the tourist. This wonderful sight makes visitors awestruck. Yearly Jain devotees pay a visit to this Temple.

Guru Shikhar Trekking

Guru Shikhar is a beautiful peak which considers as highest peak among the Aravalli range located 15km from Mount Abu. This is the place where the Guru Dattatreya lived.
