About Siachen

This momentous area is a huge conflict zone for Pakistan and India, which makes it a highly guarded area. The idea of even being able to traverse through this harsh and highly guarded terrain is like living in a fantasy realm.

The base camp is located near the LOC India shares with Pakistan. It is located in one of the most picturesque ranges of the Himalayas called the Karakoram Range.

The highest point in Siachen is the Bana Post, which is perched at 23,000 feet above sea level. However, as of now, the government has only allowed tourists until the Kumar Post.

Before this announcement, Siachen was only open to civilians once every year for the annual civilian expedition. Apart from that event, no tourist was allowed here.

The Indian army will still monitor the play and every visitor carefully before letting them into this Himalayan Fortress.
