Day By Day Itinerary
DAY 1
Ranthambore
08:30 AM: Jaipur to Ranthambore National Park (180 km, 3 to 3.5 hours)
The Jaipur to Ranthambore 1 day trip will start with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or any other location in Jaipur. You will be travelling in a private air-conditioned vehicle to Ranthambore National Park in the Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan. This journey takes about three to three and a half hours and you will traverse the Rajasthani countryside, enjoying the rural scenery, fields and towns along the National Highway 48 and other roads. This is an opportunity to relax, have breakfast if you have not already and get ready for the safari later in the day. Your driver will drop you off on time at the park.
12:00 PM to 12:30 PM: Arrival at Ranthambore
Once you arrive in the Ranthambore vicinity, you can freshen up and have lunch at a local restaurant or eatery close to the park. Lunch is not part of the package, so you can select your preferred restaurant. Your driver or the Memorable India representative will help you to find some good authentic restaurants. You can also use this time to check your identification documents, which will be required to enter the park.
02:30 PM: Afternoon Jungle Safari at Ranthambore National Park
Around 2:30 PM (depending on the season), you will register at the safari checkpoint with your photo ID card. Here, the forest department will allocate you a zone for your safari and you will board on your gypsy (jeep) or canter with your naturalist guide. The jungle safari will take about three to three and a half hours and your vehicle will drive on a pre-planned path through the zone.
Within the park, be observant. Listen for langur and deer alarm calls, which signal the presence of a predator. Your guide will alert you to these and accordingly plan the route. The road will pass through a mix of dry deciduous forests, grasslands, rocks, hills and the shores of the lake, providing a changing landscape as you travel. Bengal tigers, leopards, sloth bears, sambar deer, chital, nilgai, wild boar, jackals, hyenas, marsh crocodiles, and numerous birds can be seen roaming around. You can also see the old walls of Ranthambore Fort and some remnants of other structures from the safari route, lending an historical touch to the experience.
05:30 PM to 06:00 PM: Safari Concludes, Journey Back to Jaipur
Once the safari is over, your gypsy or canter will bring you back to the starting point. You will then embark on your private vehicle and head back to Jaipur. This journey back is an opportunity to discuss your encounters with the animals. You can ask for a break to have refreshments or dinner.
09:30 PM to 10:00 PM: Arrival at Jaipur
You will reach Jaipur around 9:30 PM to 10:00 PM (depending on the route you take). Your driver will take you to your hotel (or any other location in the city), from where you can return to your hotel. Your same day Ranthambore safari trip is all done.
