Day By Day Itinerary
DAY 1
Ahmedabad to Shimla via Chandigarh
Morning flight from Ahmedabad to Chandigarh. Our representative meets you at the airport with a placard and begins the drive to Shimla, roughly four hours through the Kalka-Solan stretch, with a tea break at Parwanoo or Solan depending on traffic. The road climbs steadily from 400 metres to 2,200 metres, and the deodar cover thickens as you cross Shoghi. Check in by evening, freshen up, and take a short walk on the Mall Road for your first look at the Ridge and the Christ Church silhouette at dusk. A light dinner at one of the Cafe Simla Times or Wake and Bake favourites usually works well after a travel day. Overnight in Shimla.

DAY 2
Shimla Local Sightseeing
After breakfast, head out to Kufri for pony rides, the Himalayan Nature Park with its resident monal pheasants and Himalayan black bears, and pine forest views over the valley. Fagu meadows and Green Valley slot in on the return drive, both worth a short stop for photos. Afternoon covers Christ Church, Scandal Point, and Lakkar Bazaar for wooden souvenirs, walking sticks, and traditional shawls. The Gaiety Heritage Cultural Complex sits along this walk and is worth a peek if timings align. Evening free on the Mall Road for cafes, book browsing at Maria Brothers, and quiet ridge photography as the lights come on across the town. Overnight in Shimla.

DAY 3
Shimla to Manali via Kullu
Early breakfast and start the scenic drive to Manali via Bilaspur, Mandi, and Kullu, roughly eight hours with breaks. The route follows the Sutlej and then the Beas, with the landscape shifting from oak scrub to alpine meadows past Aut tunnel. Photo stops along the Beas river and a short pause at the Kullu shawl showrooms and government emporium, useful if you plan to pick up traditional weaves at cooperative rates. A quick tea near Bhuntar and lunch at Mandi or Kullu breaks the drive nicely. Check in at Manali by evening. Old Manali or Mall Road for a light dinner at Johnson’s Cafe or Cafe 1947. Overnight in Manali.

DAY 4
Solang Valley and Atal Tunnel
Full day for the Solang Valley snow zone in season, adventure activities such as paragliding, zorbing, and cable-car rides (paid directly on ground), and the drive through the 9-kilometre Atal Tunnel to Sissu in Lahaul, subject to weather clearance. Sissu has a small Buddhist monastery, a waterfall, and open meadows that make for excellent picnic stops in season. The Atal Tunnel itself is worth a slow drive, since it replaced what used to be a 5-hour Rohtang crossing. Return to Manali by late afternoon before the tunnel evening traffic builds up. Evening free at Mall Road or the Old Manali cafes such as Drifter’s Inn. Overnight in Manali.

DAY 5
Manali Local: Hadimba, Vashisht, Naggar
Morning at Hadimba Devi temple in the deodar grove, one of the oldest wooden pagoda-style shrines in Himachal, followed by Manu Temple in Old Manali and the sulphur-rich Vashisht hot springs and temple complex. The springs are still used by locals for ritual bathing and are open through the day. Post-lunch drive to Naggar Castle, the erstwhile Kullu royal residence, and the Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery, one of the quieter cultural stops on this route with a small but well-curated collection. Van Vihar and the Tibetan monastery near Mall Road are optional additions on the return. Overnight in Manali.

DAY 6
Manali to Dharamshala
Post-breakfast drive to Dharamshala via Mandi and Palampur, roughly seven hours through the Kangra valley. Tea gardens visible on either side of the road as you approach Palampur, and the Dhauladhar range starts filling the northern horizon after Baijnath. A short stop at Baijnath temple or a Palampur tea estate makes the drive far less mechanical. Check in at Dharamshala or upper McLeodganj depending on hotel choice; families often prefer upper McLeodganj for the walkable cafe culture. Evening walk through Kotwali Bazaar or a quiet Bhagsu cafe with mountain views. Overnight in Dharamshala.

DAY 7
Dharamshala: McLeodganj and Bhagsu
Full day covering the Dalai Lama temple complex known as Tsuglagkhang, Namgyal Monastery, Bhagsu Nag temple, and the Bhagsu waterfall which runs strong post-monsoon. The Tsuglagkhang complex allows quiet time in the courtyard and prayer halls, and the Tibet Museum next to it documents the exile history clearly. Optional short trek to Dharamkot for panoramic Dhauladhar views, popular with morning walkers. Time set aside for the McLeodganj bookshops, Tibetan handicraft cooperatives, and cafes like Illiterati or Moonpeak for reading breaks. Sunset from the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium boundary is worth the short drive if the weather is clear. Overnight in Dharamshala.

DAY 8
Dharamshala to Ahmedabad
After breakfast, drive to Gaggal airport for the direct flight, or continue to Amritsar or Chandigarh for onward connections back to Ahmedabad. Amritsar routing lets travellers add a half-day at the Golden Temple and Wagah border, though this requires an extra night; standard 8-day pacing returns you home the same day. Tour concludes with return transfers and a summary of any post-trip formalities including insurance claim assistance if required.

How to Book
