Day By Day Itinerary
DAY 1
Ahmedabad to Madurai to Rameshwaram
Report at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International by early afternoon for the connecting flight to Madurai via Chennai or Bengaluru. Total in air plus layover time runs about 5 to 6 hours; the Chennai routing is usually 30 minutes shorter but priced higher. Our driver meets you at Madurai arrivals with a name placard, verifies your PNR, and loads bags into an AC vehicle. The 170 km drive to Rameshwaram runs via Ramanathapuram and takes roughly 3.5 hours with a scheduled tea halt. Check in at your hotel near Agni Theertham. South Indian vegetarian dinner arranged in house or at a Gujarati friendly thali kitchen. Overnight in Rameshwaram.

DAY 2
Ramanathaswamy Temple, Agni Theertham and Panchmukhi Hanuman
An early 5:30 AM start walks you across to the beach for the Agni Theertham sea dip, considered the mandatory purification before entering the sanctum. Return for a change and light breakfast, then head to Ramanathaswamy Temple for the 22 theertham bath ritual. A licensed priest handles the sankalp and takes you well by well through the 90 to 120 minute sequence. Bucket water at each well is drawn by temple staff. Post bath, enter for the Jyotirlinga darshan. Afternoon visit to Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple with its floating stone. Evening market walk near the east gate. Overnight in Rameshwaram.

DAY 3
Dhanushkodi, Pamban Bridge and Villoondi Theertham
After breakfast, drive 18 km to Mukundarayar Chathiram where private cars stop and the jeep transfer begins. Shared jeeps carry 8 to 10 passengers; private jeeps are worth the premium for families with seniors. The jeep runs through the Dhanushkodi ruins including the abandoned railway station, old post office, and collapsed church, out to Arichal Munai where two seas visibly meet in a thin colour line. Post lunch loop covers the old Pamban rail bridge, the new April 2024 vertical lift road bridge, and Villoondi Theertham with its freshwater spring inside the sea. Overnight in Rameshwaram.

DAY 4
Rameshwaram to Madurai to Ahmedabad
After breakfast checkout by 8:30 AM. The road transfer back to Madurai airport takes 3.5 hours, so a mid day flight from Madurai gives comfortable buffer for baggage drop and security. Groups adding a Madurai Meenakshi Temple stop can leave Rameshwaram by 6 AM, cover a 2 hour Meenakshi darshan slot with a licensed guide, take a South Indian lunch near the temple, and still catch an evening flight home. Connect through Chennai or Bengaluru and arrive Ahmedabad by late evening; total door to door time is typically 10 to 12 hours. End of package.
