Day By Day Itinerary
DAY 1
London to Chennai Arrival
Your non-stop from London Heathrow lands at Chennai International Airport, typically in the early hours or late morning depending on your British Airways or Air India rotation. Our representative meets you at arrivals with a Memorable India sign, walks you through the SIM-card kiosk if needed, and transfers you to a Marina Beach area hotel for check-in and rest. UK travellers arriving after an overnight flight usually spend the afternoon on a slow Marina walk, followed by an early Chettinad dinner near San Thome. A driver briefing covers tomorrow’s Mahabalipuram departure. Overnight in Chennai.

DAY 2
Chennai to Mahabalipuram to Pondicherry
An early departure heads down the East Coast Road towards Mahabalipuram, the UNESCO-listed Pallava port town, roughly ninety minutes from your hotel. Mid-morning covers the Shore Temple, Arjuna’s Penance and the Five Rathas with a licensed English-speaking guide, followed by a beachside seafood lunch. The drive continues south along the coast to Pondicherry, arriving late afternoon at a heritage stay inside the French Quarter. Evening is free for a wander through Rue Suffren and Rue Romain Rolland, ending with a sunset walk along Rock Beach. Auroville add-on available on request. Overnight in Pondicherry.

DAY 3
Pondicherry to Tanjore to Madurai
A long but rewarding driving day carries you into Tamil Nadu’s temple heartland. First stop is Tanjore, roughly four hours from Pondicherry, where the Chola-era Brihadeeswarar Temple, a UNESCO site, anchors a two-hour guided visit. Lunch is a Tanjore-style thali on banana leaf. The onward drive to Madurai takes another three and a half hours through paddy country and Chettinad-adjacent towns. Early evening check-in leaves time to freshen up before the temple’s night ceremony. Diaspora families often single out this sequence when they want children to see a working South Indian temple in flow. Overnight in Madurai.

DAY 4
Madurai to Thekkady
The morning begins with a guided walk through the Meenakshi Amman Temple, entering via the East Gopuram and moving clockwise through the corridors, the thousand-pillar hall and the sanctum-adjacent shrines. Modest dress and no interior photography rules apply. A late-morning tiffin breakfast at a classic Madurai eatery precedes the road transfer to Thekkady, a four-hour drive climbing steadily into the Western Ghats and across the Kerala border. Check-in at a plantation-view resort near Periyar leaves time for an evening cardamom-and-spice walk, or an optional Kathakali performance in town. Overnight in Thekkady.

DAY 5
Thekkady to Alleppey Houseboat
A morning boat ride on Periyar Lake, followed by a short bamboo-rafting or nature walk in the tiger reserve buffer, opens the day. Post lunch, you descend from the Western Ghats towards the Kerala backwaters, roughly four hours to the Alleppey houseboat jetty. Boarding your private kettuvallam happens by 12:30 to 1 PM, and the vessel casts off shortly after with lunch served onboard. The afternoon drifts through Vembanad Lake, past coir villages, toddy shops and Chinese fishing nets, ending in a quiet paddy-field mooring. Dinner is a full Kerala sadya. Overnight onboard.

DAY 6
Alleppey to Kochi via Fort Kochi
Disembark by 9 AM after an onboard breakfast of appam, stew and cut fruit, then drive roughly ninety minutes north to Kochi. Check into a Fort Kochi heritage hotel, freshen up, and step out with a walking guide. The Fort Kochi loop covers the Chinese fishing nets, St Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica, the Dutch Cemetery and the Jew Town spice lanes leading to the Paradesi Synagogue. Colonial-history enthusiasts usually add an hour at the Dutch Palace in Mattancherry. Evening is free for Kashi Art Cafe and a slow seafood dinner along Princess Street. Overnight in Fort Kochi.

DAY 7
Kochi to Munnar
A morning departure covers the roughly four and a half hour climb from sea-level Kochi to 5,000 feet at Munnar, passing the Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls along the way. Lunch is a plantation-view meal at a mid-route highway restaurant. Afternoon check-in at your Munnar resort is followed by a light Tata Tea Museum visit if timings allow, otherwise a slow plantation walk near your property. Evenings in Munnar carry a genuine chill even in season, so the light fleece from your packing brief earns its place. Families often single this out as their favourite hill halt. Overnight in Munnar.

DAY 8
Munnar to Mysore
An early start heads north through the Anamudi foothills, exits Kerala at the Kumily-Bodinayakkanur belt, and joins the Coimbatore-Mysore corridor. This is the longest driving day of the circuit at roughly eight to nine hours with meal and photo halts, and we schedule two comfort stops and a proper South Indian lunch en route. Late afternoon arrival at your Mysore heritage hotel is followed by a light evening walk near Devaraja Market. Travellers who prefer a shorter driving day can split this stage with an overnight halt at Ooty or Coimbatore on request. Overnight in Mysore.

DAY 9
Mysore Sightseeing Day
A full guided day begins at the Amba Vilas Palace, home of the Wodeyar dynasty, followed by the Jaganmohan Art Gallery and a lunch stop near the palace precinct. The afternoon covers Chamundi Hill for the Chamundeshwari Temple and the Nandi monolith, and a curated shopping window at the Mysore silk and sandalwood emporiums. Evening plans depend on the day: illumination Sundays light the palace with nearly one lakh bulbs, worth timing around when possible. Dinner is at your hotel or a Mysore-style Darshini nearby. Honeymooners usually add a Brindavan Gardens musical fountain visit. Overnight in Mysore.

DAY 10
Mysore to Bengaluru Airport Departure
A morning transfer covers the roughly three and a half hour drive from Mysore to Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, timed to your onward British Airways, Air India or Gulf-carrier flight back to London, Manchester or Birmingham. If your departure runs late evening, we add a Bengaluru city stop for lunch on MG Road and a short Cubbon Park walk before airport drop. Our representative sees you through airport entry, hands over your final documentation folder, and completes the trip with a WhatsApp handover for post-trip support. Trip concludes.
