Uttarkashi to Gangotri and return

Drive to Gangotri, roughly three hours through pine and deodar forests. Gangotri sits at 3,100 metres and marks the origin of the Ganga. Guptkashi to Kedarnath

Drive to Sonprayag or Gaurikund and begin the sixteen-kilometre trek or helicopter shuttle to Kedarnath. The temple sits at 3,583 metres. Road-format travellers walk or use pony and palki assistance, arriving by afternoon. Helicopter travellers land near the temple and typically return the same day. Take darshan at Kedarnath, dedicated to Lord Shiva as one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Overnight at Kedarnath tented or guesthouse accommodation, or return to Guptkashi if flying.

Kedarnath to Guptkashi

Morning darshan at Kedarnath if you overnighted at the temple, followed by the descent to Sonprayag or Gaurikund and drive back to Guptkashi. Helicopter format travellers use this day for a slower Guptkashi morning and start the drive to Badrinath in the afternoon. Guptkashi to Badrinath

Drive to Badrinath, roughly seven to eight hours through Joshimath and along the Alaknanda river. Badrinath sits at 3,133 metres.
