Darjeeling and Gangtok are Eastern Indian cities famous for the tea plantations, gardens and are paradise for all adventure lovers. Darjeeling is a city nestling in the rolling mountains and is known worldwide for the famous Darjeeling tea. Perched on the foothills of Himalaya this city is the legendary British hill station. Adjoining Darjeeling is Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim which is located in the Shivalik range at an altitude of 1700 meters. The scenic view of the Kanchenjunga and the beautiful surroundings are absolutely breath – taking.

      Arrival

      Transfer to Darjeeling after arrival at New Jalpaiguri railway station / Bagdogra airport. An en route visit to Mirik Lake. Check-in at the hotel followed by an overnight stay.

      Darjeeling

      On our trip to Darjeeling one the most spectacular experiences is the sunrise. A visit to Tiger Hills at 03:00hrs to experience the magical beauty of sunrising over the Kanchenjunga Mountains. A visit to Batasia loop (a war memorial) and the Ghoom Monastery followed by a visit in the afternoon to the Himalayan Zoo, Botanical gardens, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and Tibetian Handicraft Center. On the way back to the hotel, a drive past the famous Darjeeling Tea gardens followed by stay at the hotel, overnight.

      Darjeeling - Gangtok

      A drive to the next leg of the tour, Gangtok. The city of Gangtok is a speck in the painted canvas of the snow – capped and misty Himalaya. This city set in the lap of the Shivalik range is also known as the “Switzerland of the East”. Check-in at the hotel on arrival and stay at the hotel overnight.

      Gangtok

      A trip to Baba Mandir located on the way to the Nathu La pass which connects China and India. The mandir is a memorial built to honour an Indian Army soldier, Harbhajan Singh who drowned near the Nathu La pass. This is followed by a trip to the Changu or Tsomgo lak. This oval shaped 1km long lake is considered sacred by the locals. A yak ride around the lake (optional). Stay at the hotel for the night.

      Gangtok

      To view the mystical beauty of the mountains, a visit to the Tashi Veiw Point in the morning followed by visit to Hanuman Tok and Ganesh Tok. Also visit to the Stupa, Enchay Monastery, Rumtek Monastery, Institute of Tibetology, Flower Monastery, Do Drul Chorten and Institute of handicrafts and handlooms. The Rumtek Monastery is the largest Tibetian monastery in Sikkim serving as the main seat of the Karma Kagyu lineage. Stay at the hotel, overnight.
