Gangabal is placed just about 45 kilometers away from Srinagar. Srinagar is the beginning and concluding points of the trek to Gangabal (3,570 m). It is 8 days trekking from Srinagar. Starting from the Srinagar, the trekking cuts and crosses many scenic places like Sonmarg, Nichinai, Krishansar and Dubta Pani to finally arrive at the immaculate Gangabal Lake. It is a place that is explored by plenty of travelers nationally and internationally. The trekkers can view many gorgeous places while going to the Gangabal Lake. Astounding flora and Himalayan wildlife is main attraction here. The trekker can come across haughty Mt. Haramukh (5,380 m), alpine lakes, Vishansar, Kishansar and the flower-strewn meadows. The trekkers can observe Bakarwals and Gujars nomadic tribes on the way.
There are, in fact, a lot of things that you can find as a trekker on the way to Gangabal which greatly adds exquisiteness to your trekking experience. The commencement of the trekking path begins after a small drive to Nichinai. The trekkers have to move across Sonmarg to reach Nichinai. You can see flower-strewn meadows as you proceed with trekking.
Now, it's time to lead through the magnificent Kishansar and Vishansar Lake. Gadsar Lake is a famous tourist destination in Kashmir and offers the best view for the trekkers to enjoy the natural beauty of lakes. The trekkers should pass through Gadsar high pass so as to reach the Gadsar Lake. There are two stopovers like Postpatri and Mangndub en route to lake from Dubta Pani.
Gangabal Lake is a perfect lake for rainbow and people used to take pleasure in brown trout fishing here. The length of Gangabal Lake is 2.5 kilometers. Wangath Nallah and Nundkol Lake are close to Gangabal Lake. The lake amalgamates with Sindh River. Camping is ideal here in Gangabal and Nundkol.

Day 01: Arrival Srinagar (1585m)
You can meet our representative on your arrival. He will take you to the houseboat. Trek leader will give you a brief notes on departure. We will have a short Shikara ride in Dal / Nigeen Lake. Then, you can have an overnight stay at the houseboat. (D)
Day 02: Srinagar - Sonamarg (2723m) 4 Hrs. 84 Km
Today, we will drive through the scenic Sindh valley. You can pass through the SindhRiver. We will take a side walk to Thajwas glacier subsequent to lunch. Then, you can take an overnight stay at Sonamarg in tents. The tents will be made on a two person share basis. (BLD)
Day 03: Sonmarg - Nichnai (3620m) 4 - 5 Hrs. 13 Km
Today, we will get through the pine forest and also walk on a steel bridge to cross the Sindh River. Then, the trekkers can climb steeply to Shkoder and from here you can have the view of glacier and the Sindh valley. We will descent to camp at Nichinai for an overnight stay. (BLD)
Day 04: Nichinai - Krishansar (3680m) 4 - 5 Hrs. 15 Km
Today, our trekking commences with a climb to Nichinai Pass (4084m). You can enjoy the magnificent mountain views from Nichinai Pass. It's time for us to move to Vishansar and Krishansar lakes. Then, we will camp at Vishansar Lake once we cross a small stream. We will stay at Vishansar Lake for two nights. (BLD)
Day 05: Krishansar - Dubta Pani (3280m) 4 - 5 Hrs. 16 Km
Today, we will make a climb to Gadsar pass. Gadsar pass offers amazing view of the Karakorum Mountains. Our descent to the contour and Gadsar Lake will take us to our overnight camp. We have planned to camp adjacent to a stream. (BLD)
Day 06: Dubta Pani - Gangabal Lakes (3570m) 7 - 8 Hrs. 19 Km
Today, we will cross the steam first and climb to Postpatri. Postpatri is known as the valley of flowers and you will get the view of the Karakoram Mountains from here. We will then climb to Zagibal peak (4210m) once we reach the saddle at Mangandub. The climb will present you captivating views of the Gangabal lakes and Hurmukh peak. Then, we will cross a stream and a short climb will take us to our camp. We will have two night camp at Gangabal lakes. (BLD)
Day 07: Gangabal Lake (3570m). Rest Day
We will use up the whole day for rest. However, the trekkers are allowed to travel around the lake or you can go to Lul Gul pass and it offers a spectacular view of Nangapabath. (BLD)
Day 08: Gangbal Lake - Srinagar (1585m) 1 Hr drive
After breakfast, we will start our stride to cross the two small villages of Nunkol and Trunkol. Then, we will descent through pine forest to Naranag. You can visit a Buddhist monastery at Naranag. This is our concluding spot of Gangabal Lake trek. You will be taken to a houseboat for your overnight stay in a chartered coach/car.
Day 09: Depart Srinagar
Today, you can go to the airport to catch your flight.
