Gems of Bhutan

Bhutan also known as 'the Last Shangri-La' and 'Land of the Peaceful Thunder Dragon' is a landlocked state perched in The Great Himalayas between China and India. The uncorrupted ancient culture, fertile valleys, the stark and striking mountains and the lush greenery are some of the many reasons that make this state a class apart from the others. It is popular for the wildlife sanctuaries and national parks which house some of most magnificent, rarest and significant animals in the world.

Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan is the smallest capital and is the only capital in the world having no traffic lights. It is located in the fertile valley traversed by the Wangchhu River at a height of 8000 feet. It is the home to the Judiciary, the Royal Government and the revered Bhutanese Royal Family.

Trangso is situated at the centre of Bhutan and is known as the royal family's ancestral home. The most famous tourist spot is the Trongsa Dzong, the secular and religious centre, an impregnable fortress. The town had proved to be delightful, not just for nature lovers, but also the ones who love shopping.

Bumthang, located at an altitude of 2600 meters is well known as the spiritual heartland of Bhutan, since it houses some of the oldest Buddhist temples. The place encompassing the four major valleys namely the Tang, Ura, Chhume and Choskhor is surrounded by heavenly apple grooves.

Punakha is famous for its benign climate which is perfect for fruit trees to flourish which complement the snow-crested Himalayan Mountains in the backdrop.

Paro is a town located in western Bhutan in the Paro valley and is well known for the rich history it preserves. With a population of just over 30,000, this rapidly growing town is a centre for all the major activities in the valley.

This tour is going to give you an opportunity to observe the valley culture, enjoy great panoramic sights and be a part of the 'tsechhus' which is a dance festival filled with joy and colours.
