Bagru village is about 30 kms from Jaipur. Early morning you will be picked up from your Jaipur Hotel and there will be drive to Bagru village. Earlier block painting was famous in large parts of Rajasthan, but due to modern printing technology and demand the work is limited and done at some places only. Bagru village is one of those places where still traditional Hand block painting work is done. Get in touch with your creative side, or develop your skills, while learning side by side our skilled craftsperson. Be fascinated by the prints made with small wooden blocks and colours extracted from nature.
The program leader will take you around the factory, showing you samples of printed textile, as well as the wooden blocks and vegetable dye used in the printing process. Then, time to make your own prints! Choose one of the already carved blocks from the factory to design the cotton scarf provided in your program kit.
Your workshop doesn’t end with the prints! Listen carefully as you are taught the indispensable techniques in post-printing handling such as boiling, dyeing, color fixing and washing. After passing through the post-printing processes, your scarf is ready! You may take it home with you at the end of the workshop.
In afternoon you will return from the Bagru village to your hotel in Jaipur.
