Day 01: Arrive Kolkata
You will be greeted and welcomed at the Kolkata International airport by our tour staff. You will be taken to the hotel for a good night sleep and rest.
Day 02: Kolkata - Dibrugarh
On the second day of the tour, you will be flown to Dibrugarh. Dibrugarh is known as the entrance of the state Arunachal Pradesh. You will be greeted by our representatives at the airport. You will be transported to the hotel where you can relax for a while. When you have sufficient rest, you have the freedom to either walk along the river bank or go for shopping at the market. At night, you can have a good night sleep at the hotel.
Day 03: Dibrugarh - Digboi Villagers
On the third day, we will go to Digboi after the breakfast. Namphake village is on the way. Phakial community lives there since 1850 AD. They have a unique culture and traditions which they have preserved till date. They follow Buddhism. The famous Buddhist monastery at Namphake is a great attraction. We will visit this village to explore its distinct features.
Our next destination will be the Bell Temple. Thousands of belles are tied to the pillars, walls and trees here. Devotees of the temple tie them if they get any of their wish fulfilled. After visiting the temple, we will go to Eco resort / home stay for a good night sleep and rest.
Day 04: Digboi - Mon
After breakfast on the fourth day of North East India tour, we will move to Mon in Nagaland. Mon is a district and it has the altitude of 898 meters. Konyak Nagas live here. People of this place wear feathers and have tattoos on their faces. Basically, they are craftsmen and artisans. Wood carvings in Mon are a sight to see. The most important festival of Mon is Aoling Monyu. This festival is celebrated in the 1st week of April every year. They have a symbolic daos or spear dance during these festivals. During dance, men wear their traditional shawls and feathers on their head. Traditionally, Konyaks Dynasty rules here. Their chief is known as Anghs. The biggest house in the place is that of Angh. The house is marked by skulls in front.
After experiencing their village life and traditions, return to hotel for a good night sleep at Mon.
Day 05: Mon - Shangnyu Village - Mon
On the fifth day of our North East India Tour, we will visit Shangnyu village. People here typically lead a traditional life. In the district of Mon, Shangnyu is a significant village. The village is ruled by its chief Angh. You have an opportunity to understand real village life and their traditions. You can interact with the locals of the village. The palace of Angh is eight feet high and twelve feet wide. It is believed that the place is built by heavenly angels. One can see cravings of various types of animals and human being in the palace.
Back to hotel at Mon and a good night sleep.
Day 06: Mon - Mokokchung
Mokokchung: We will make a full excursion to Mokokchung after breakfast. Naga tribe Ao resides here. Mokokchung is a district in Nagaland. The inhabitants of this district are Ao tribe. In the Northern Nagaland, Mokokchung is the cultural and political center. The tribe Ao celebrate their festivals in Chuchuyimlang. The most prominent festival is Moatsu. This festival is based on community bonding. They celebrate it in the first week of May. Villagers exchange gifts among themselves to renew their bonds. After reaching here, we will check into the hotel to enjoy a good night sleep.
Day 07: Mokokchung - Ungma - Longkhum - Tuophema
After breakfast, we will leave for Ungma and Longkhum. After visiting these two villages, we will extend our excursion to Tuophema village also.
Longkhum: The beauty of nature is at its best at Longkhum. Hillocks are covered by beautiful rhododendrons in the spring. When they bloom, it is a great sight to watch. It said that you have to come back a second time to Longkhum to enjoy real beauty of this village because the memories of your first visit force you to visit it a second time. Ethnic handicrafts and handlooms are another attraction of this place.
Ungma: Among Ao tribes, Ungama is the largest and the oldest village. In overall Nagaland, Ungama is the second largest village. The village is three kilometers away from Mokokchung. Ungma has an important place in the history of Nagas. It is said that it is the first village they constituted as soon as they entered here from their original home Chungliyimti. The village exhibits a lot of features of traditional life style of the tribal people here.
The next place of visit is Tuophema village. At Touphema, we will check into the tourist cottages. These cottages are constructed in the Angami style of Nagas.
Day 08: Tuophema - Khonoma Village - Kohima
Enchanting place of Khonoma village will be our tour destination in this morning after breakfast. Touphema village is the first place we will visit in the morning. If you love trekking, the conserved Touphema village is an idea place. Every year, Angami Sekrenyi festival is celebrated here between February 25 and 27. It is a festival of purification. People purify themselves from misfortunes and diseases.
Next, we will go to Khonoma village. This village has a lot stories to tell about the courageous defense of the native people against the British Infiltration. The night stay is arranged at Kohima, the capital city of Nagaland.
Day 09: Kohima
The ninth day of North East India Tribal Tour will be marked by a lot of sightseeing in and around Kohima. We will also visit Kisema and Bara Basti villages. There is a war monument in the city. The monument marks the victory of Allied force over the Japanese. In order to honour the war heroes, a war cemetery was constructed in the city. The famous inscription "When You Go Home, Tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, We Gave Our Today" is in this cemetery.
At Bayani Hill station, we can visit the state Museum. Naga culture is the central theme of this museum and thus we can find everything about Nagas here including ancient weapons, coins, jewellery, tools and implement, handicrafts and handlooms and artifacts.
Then we will move towards hotel for rest and sleep.
Day 10: Kohima - Jorhat
Tenth day is a day of travel. After breakfast we will set out to Jorhat. On reaching Jorhat, we will stay at the hotel / bungalow. We will stay here for the night.
Day 11: Jorhat
We will go to enjoy tea gardens in the morning after breakfast. Gymkhana club at Jorhat is as old as 1876. It was built by D. Slimmon in this year. It is a famous centre of horse riding and races. Gymkhana club also has 9-hole golf course. It holds the reputation of being the oldest golf course in Asia in the 'world heritage list'. In the world level, it is the third oldest. Cinema theatre, gentlemen's bar, polo, billiards, swimming pool and lawn tennis grass court are other facilities at the club.
There is a facility for you to visit Garh Ali, the commercial hub of Jorhat. Locally, the bylane of the place is known as Marwari Gali. In this street, there are shops which sell famous North East Indian handicrafts and fabrics. You also get an opportunity to enjoy Taari Di Hatti here.
We will return to hotel for rest and sleep.
Day 12: Jorhat - Majuli
On the twelfth day of North East India tribal tour, we will visit Majuli. Need to get up early and take a quick breakfast. Majuli is the biggest river island in the world. We have to board a boat from the Nimati Gahat to Majuli. There are Vaishnavite monasteries on this river island. One has to cross the river Brahmaputra to reach Majuli. Once you arrive there, you will be accommodated in the resorts assigned for tourists.
Here, you have an opportunity to get one with the nature. It is a once in a life time experience. There are many villages in Majuli and you have the freedom to go for evening walk into these villages. Hence, you get a firsthand knowledge of the way of life of locals there. They make their living by way of weaving, fishing and agriculture. They also engage themselves in handloom, pottery, dairy farming and boat making.

Day 13: Majuli - Kaziranga
On the thirteenth day of the tour, we will return to Nimati Ghat by boat. Next, we will visit kaziranga. It is a world Heritage site approved by UNESCO. Kaziranga National Park is famous for One Horned Rhinos. At Kaziranga, wildlife resort will be your place of stay. There are beautiful villages around and an evening walk through them will be an exhilarating experience. We will return to the resort for rest and sleep.
Day 14: Kaziranga
Today, we will explore the Kaziranga National Park. On this day, we have to rise up a bit early and will set out to the forest on the top of an elephant. Jeep service will be there to the Elephant riding point. You will be also accompanied by our representative in all these activities. Riding an elephant through the forest in a fine morning is a mind blogging experience for all. You can watch other wild animals very close as they do not run away seeing an elephant.
We will come back to resort and have our breakfast. Soon after the breakfast, we will be ready for the Jeep safari through the central zone of the park. It is a great opportunity for all of you to view wildlife from very close range.
After the jeep safari, we will return to resort for lunch. Second jeep safari will be after the lunch. We will explore the Western Zone of the park this time. We will also enter Donga viewpoint and later come back to the resort for a goodnight sleep.
Day 15: Kaziranga - Jorhat - Kolkata
On the fifteenth day of the tour, we will go back to Jorhat and board a flight to Kolkata. Once you are at Kolkata, you have the freedom to take rest or go for shopping. A good night sleep and rest at the hotel.
Day 16: Departure
As per the schedule of flight to your native place, you will be taken to the Kolkata international airport to board airplanes.
