Day By Day Itinerary
DAY 1
Bangalore - Coorg (Madikeri)
You will be picked up from your hotel or a specific location in Bangalore early in the morning. En route to Coorg, you will travel through the Mysore district, and might stop for a short lunch at a wayside restaurant. Upon reaching Madikeri, check into your hotel or guest house and visit Raja’s Seat in the afternoon, a manicured garden with a commanding view of a large valley. You can also visit the Madikeri Fort, home to a small museum and temple. The rest of the day is at leisure or visit the market.

DAY 2
Coorg Sightseeing
A day in Coorg with your guide. Begin with a trip to the Abbey Falls, a short drive from Madikeri, and then visit Talacauvery, the source of the River Cauvery. This place is considered sacred and gives you a view of the hills. Head to a coffee plantation to learn how coffee is grown, cultivated, and roasted. If in season, take a walk in the woods along the trails. Make your way back to your hotel in the evening.

DAY 3
Coorg to Chikmagalur
Leave Coorg after breakfast for Chikmagalur. You travel through plantations, and the landscape starts to change as you climb in altitude. Once there, check into the resort and go for a peaceful afternoon by the Hirekolale Lake. Or if you are more inclined, the lower trails around the Z Point trek can be completed in a couple of hours. Evening at leisure.

DAY 4
Chikmagalur Exploration
Start your journey early in the morning, heading out for Mullayangiri, the highest peak in Karnataka. The last leg includes a short trek to the summit, from which you can see the entire range. Head down to visit Baba Budangiri, a prominent historical and spiritual peak. In the afternoon, visit Hebbe Falls if the road is in good condition (this is an unpaved road and should be done with a local car). Return to Chikmagalur for the night.

DAY 5
Chikmagalur to Jog Falls via Agumbe
Drive from Chikmagalur to Jog Falls, stopping at Agumbe. In Agumbe, go to the sunset viewpoint (it is also great for sunrise photography) and continue to the rainforest stretch between Agumbe and the highway to Shimoga. Reach Jog Falls in the afternoon. The rest of the day can be spent at the main viewpoint, where you can see the four Jog Falls of the Sharavathi River in one go. Book accommodation in the vicinity.

DAY 6
Jog Falls and Surroundings
If your visit is during or immediately after the monsoon, spend the morning at the falls again as the light and mist change. There is a path down to the base of the falls (this is a steep walk down and up, and not suitable for people with mobility issues). Or visit the more peaceful Linganamakki Dam and reservoir. The rest of the day is free for relaxation before the trip back.

DAY 7
Jog Falls to Bangalore
Start the journey back to Bangalore after breakfast. This takes you back through Shimoga and Davangere, with stops for lunch and dinner. This journey will likely take you back to Bangalore late in the evening. Your driver will take you to your hotel or any other place indicated by you. This is the end of your Western Ghats trip from Bangalore.
Note: This trip can be done in 4 or 5 days by choosing fewer destinations, or in 6 or 7 days by including Kudremukh and more trek destinations. Please share your preferences with the Memorable India team at the time of quoting.
