Day By Day Itinerary
DAY 1
Depart Stockholm or Gothenburg for Delhi
Your journey begins from Arlanda or Landvetter with a Qatar Airways or Emirates one-stop connection to Delhi via Doha or Dubai. Total flight time typically runs 12 to 14 hours including the layover, and most Swedish departures land at Indira Gandhi International Airport in the early morning IST. Our representative meets you on arrival at Terminal 3, assists with the airport transfer to your Delhi hotel, and walks through the domestic connection plan for the next morning. Rest, check the pre-briefed medical kit for altitude, and reset for the three-and-a-half-hour time shift from CET.

DAY 2
Delhi to Dehradun by air, drive to Barkot
A morning IndiGo or Air India domestic flight moves you from Delhi to Jolly Grant Airport near Dehradun in under an hour. From there, the drive to Barkot runs about seven hours through Mussoorie and along the Yamuna valley. The route climbs steadily and gives you your first real look at Garhwal terrain. Overnight at a Barkot hotel with early dinner so the next day’s Yamunotri trek gets a full rested start.

DAY 3
Barkot to Yamunotri and back
Drive to Janki Chatti in the morning, from where the six-kilometre walk or pony ride to Yamunotri begins. The temple sits at 3,293 metres and is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. Take darshan, complete puja at the Divya Shila, and return to Barkot by evening. Palki and pony arrangements are pre-booked based on your fitness declaration during the pre-trip consultation, so nothing is left to on-ground negotiation.

DAY 4
Barkot to Uttarkashi
The drive to Uttarkashi takes about four to five hours along the Bhagirathi river. Uttarkashi is a serene mountain town with the Vishwanath temple, and it acts as the base for Gangotri. Arrive by mid-afternoon, rest, and enjoy an early evening walk along the ghats. Overnight at Uttarkashi in a hotel selected for hot water, heating, and clean vegetarian dining suited to Swedish palates.

DAY 5
Uttarkashi to Gangotri and return
Drive to Gangotri, roughly three hours through pine and deodar forests. Gangotri sits at 3,100 metres and marks the origin of the Ganga. Take darshan, offer puja, and if time permits, walk a short stretch of the trail toward Gaumukh. Return to Uttarkashi in the evening. This day in the Char Dham Yatra tour package from Sweden circuit is one of the quieter, more contemplative stretches.

DAY 6
Uttarkashi to Guptkashi
A long transfer day, roughly ten hours through Tehri, Dev Prayag, and Srinagar Garhwal, ending at Guptkashi in the Mandakini valley. Guptkashi is the base for Kedarnath and sits at 1,319 metres, giving you good acclimatisation before the higher trek. The route runs along river confluences (prayags) that hold ritual significance. Overnight at Guptkashi in preparation for Kedarnath.

DAY 7
Guptkashi to Kedarnath
Drive to Sonprayag or Gaurikund and begin the sixteen-kilometre trek or helicopter shuttle to Kedarnath. The temple sits at 3,583 metres. Road-format travellers walk or use pony and palki assistance, arriving by afternoon. Helicopter travellers land near the temple and typically return the same day. Take darshan at Kedarnath, dedicated to Lord Shiva as one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Overnight at Kedarnath tented or guesthouse accommodation, or return to Guptkashi if flying.

DAY 8
Kedarnath to Guptkashi
Morning darshan at Kedarnath if you overnighted at the temple, followed by the descent to Sonprayag or Gaurikund and drive back to Guptkashi. Helicopter format travellers use this day for a slower Guptkashi morning and start the drive to Badrinath in the afternoon. Vehicle and hotel arrangements adjust based on which format you chose in the Chardham Yatra package from Sweden confirmation.

DAY 9
Guptkashi to Badrinath
Drive to Badrinath, roughly seven to eight hours through Joshimath and along the Alaknanda river. Badrinath sits at 3,133 metres. Arrive by afternoon, take evening darshan at the Badrinath temple, and bathe in the Tapt Kund hot spring adjacent to the temple. Overnight at Badrinath in a hotel selected for warmth and clean vegetarian dining.

DAY 10
Badrinath, Mana village, and drive to Rudraprayag
Morning darshan at Badrinath, visit to Mana village (the last village before the Tibet border), Vyas Gufa, and Bhim Pul. Post lunch, begin the descent to Rudraprayag, roughly five to six hours. Rudraprayag is the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini and holds ritual significance in the Char Dham circuit. Overnight at Rudraprayag.

DAY 11
Rudraprayag to Haridwar
Descend from the Garhwal Himalayas to Haridwar, roughly six to seven hours. Arrive by evening and attend the Ganga aarti at Har Ki Pauri. This day is the ritual close of the yatra, and many Swedish Indian families use the Haridwar overnight to perform final family rituals. Overnight at a Haridwar hotel.

DAY 12
Haridwar to Delhi, connect Stockholm
Morning drive to Dehradun or Delhi (roughly four hours from Haridwar to Delhi), and connect your international return to Stockholm or Gothenburg via Doha or Dubai. Total return journey time is comparable to the outbound. Our team confirms your flight status, coordinates the airport transfer, and stays reachable until you clear immigration at Arlanda or Landvetter.
