Day By Day Itinerary
DAY 1
Arrival in Delhi from the USA
Your long-haul flight from Newark, JFK, IAH, ORD, or SFO lands at Indira Gandhi International Airport, where a Memorable India representative meets you past customs. Transfer to a 4-star hotel in central or airport-area Delhi, with rooms pre-blocked for early check-in given the time difference. The first day is deliberately unscheduled, beyond an activation of your Indian SIM and a briefing on the yatra ahead. Rest, hydrate, and adjust to the 10.5-hour time difference from ET or the 13.5-hour gap from PT. Overnight in Delhi.

DAY 2
Delhi to Haridwar by Road
After breakfast, drive to Haridwar via the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, covering roughly 220 km in five to six hours. On arrival, check into your Haridwar hotel and rest through the afternoon. In the early evening, walk down to Har ki Pauri for the Ganga aarti; the lamps, chants, and floating diyas on the river are the true starting ritual of the yatra. Dinner is vegetarian at the hotel. Overnight in Haridwar.

DAY 3
Haridwar to Barkot via Mussoorie
Early breakfast and departure for Barkot, the base town for Yamunotri. The route climbs through Dehradun and past Mussoorie, offering the first proper Himalayan views. Driving time is roughly seven hours across 195 km of hill road, with a lunch break en route. Arrive at Barkot by late afternoon, check in, and rest for the trek the next morning. Overnight in Barkot.

DAY 4
Yamunotri Darshan and Return to Barkot
Drive to Janki Chatti in the morning, the start point of the 6 km trek to Yamunotri temple. Ponies, doli, and porters are pre-arranged for elderly pilgrims. At the temple, offer prayers to Goddess Yamuna, cook rice in the Surya Kund hot spring as prasad, and return to Janki Chatti by afternoon. Drive back to Barkot for the night. This is the first of four dhams and a physically demanding day. Overnight in Barkot.

DAY 5
Barkot to Uttarkashi
A shorter driving day of about 100 km takes you to Uttarkashi, an ancient temple town on the Bhagirathi river. Check in by afternoon, and if you feel up to it, visit Vishwanath temple and Kashi Vishwanath temple in the old town before dinner. The rest of the day is left free so pilgrims can recover from the Yamunotri trek. Overnight in Uttarkashi.

DAY 6
Gangotri Darshan and Return to Uttarkashi
Early departure for Gangotri, roughly 100 km one way through Harsil valley and past the tree line in places. At Gangotri, offer prayers at the source shrine of the Ganga and take part in the abhishekam and aarti. The drive back to Uttarkashi is completed by evening. This is a long road day; packed vegetarian lunches are carried from the hotel. Overnight in Uttarkashi.

DAY 7
Uttarkashi to Guptkashi
A long transit day of about 220 km takes roughly nine hours across mountain roads via Tehri, Srinagar (Garhwal), and Rudraprayag. Guptkashi is your base for Kedarnath. Arrive by evening, check in, and receive a briefing on the next day’s Kedarnath logistics, including helicopter timings or the trek plan from Gaurikund. Overnight in Guptkashi.

DAY 8
Kedarnath Darshan
Pilgrims taking the helicopter transfer are driven to Phata or Sersi helipad early in the morning for a short flight to Kedarnath, darshan at the temple, and return by afternoon. Those trekking are transferred to Gaurikund for the 16 km ascent to Kedarnath, with an overnight stay at a basic guesthouse near the shrine. The itinerary confirms your chosen mode at booking. Overnight in Guptkashi or Kedarnath depending on format.

DAY 9
Guptkashi to Badrinath
Drive to Badrinath via Joshimath, covering roughly 195 km in eight to nine hours. The route climbs to 3,100 metres, so hydration and pacing matter. Check into your Badrinath hotel by evening. Visit the temple for the evening aarti and take part in the tulsi mala offering. Weather can turn quickly; carry warm layers. Overnight in Badrinath.

DAY 10
Badrinath Sightseeing and Drive to Rudraprayag
Early morning darshan at Badrinath temple, followed by a visit to Mana village, the last Indian village before the Tibet border, and the Bheem Pul and Vyas Gufa nearby. After lunch, begin the drive down to Rudraprayag, roughly 160 km taking six to seven hours. Rudraprayag sits at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. Overnight in Rudraprayag.

DAY 11
Rudraprayag to Haridwar and Onward to Delhi Airport
Drive down to Haridwar in the morning, roughly 165 km. After lunch and a short break for last-minute Ganga jal collection at Har ki Pauri, continue to Delhi airport in time for your late-evening or late-night flight back to the USA. The itinerary specifically holds the last leg for airport transfer buffer, factoring in Delhi traffic and international check-in timings. Yatra concludes.
