Overview

Coonoor is a high altitude place that is just about 1858 Km above the sea level and is approximately 18 Km from Ooty. When compared to Ooty it enjoys a rather milder climate that makes it be a rich haven for tea and coffee estates. This is a beautiful hilly place that offers visitors stunning views like the Lamb’s Rock, Lady Canning’s Seat and Dolphin’s nose. You will also be able to see the great Catherine Falls here. The Sim’s Park is also here featuring over 1000 plant species with so many varieties of roses. The Pasteur institute is also based here and it is the only place in India where rabies vaccine is made in the Indian sub-continent.
