Overview

Prayagraj, the land of holy scriptures, historical monuments, and ancient marvels, was formerly known as Allahabad. This place is renowned for its rich religious beliefs and cultural heritage. This major pilgrimage centre in India is located at the confluence of three sacred rivers: the Ganges, the Yamuna, and the Saraswati. Prayagraj is one of the oldest cities in India, and its name originates from the Sanskrit word “ Teertharaj,” which means “the king of the pilgrimage sites.”

This city is famous for hosting the largest religious gathering in the world called the “Kumbh Mela”, which takes place every 12 years, and millions of devotees come to take blessings of Lord Shiva at the Triveni Sangam Ghat. If you are looking for a one-day escape from your hectic schedule to enjoy this holy city rich in spirituality and historical heritage, this tour package is perfect for you.

The first stop in this day-long journey across Prayagraj will be the Triveni Sangam Ghat, which is a significant pilgrimage site in Hinduism. You can enjoy a dip at this place to wash away your sins, which is an anthropological belief that Hindus have sworn by for ages. After that, head to the Sleeping Hanuman Temple, where a reclining statue of Lord Hanuman is depicted in a sleeping position. This temple is located at the confluence of the three holy rivers. In the monsoon season, at this place, the Ganges River offers the sacred bath to the idol of Bade Hanuman, who is in the reclining position, also known as” Kotwal of Prayagraj”. The last destination in our one-day tour is the Allahabad Fort, which is known for its historical and archaeological significance. In the evening, after exploring all the destinations, enjoy the Sandhya Aarti at Sangam Ghat while exploring the narrow lanes of Prayagraj, and taste the famous street food from Nirala Chaat Bhandar, where a wide range of snacks is available from Khasta kachori, Cholle Samose, Allo Tikki, and the famous Allahabadai Petha. Whether you’re a history buff or an adventure seeker, this place is sure to offer something for everyone.
