Day By Day Itinerary
DAY 1
Arrive Delhi, Rest and South Delhi Round
Your Air India or Qantas flight lands at IGI Terminal 3 between 4.50 am and 6.30 am depending on the sector. Our representative meets you outside international arrivals with a name board and drives you to your Aerocity or central Delhi hotel for early check in, which we pre arrange so the room is ready. Sleep off the flight until noon, then a late lunch and a gentle afternoon round of Humayun’s Tomb, the Lotus Temple and India Gate. The pace is deliberately slow on Day 1 because the body clock is still catching up, and pushing sightseeing hard on arrival is the single most common mistake we see on a Delhi Agra Jaipur trip from Australia. Overnight in Delhi.

DAY 2
Old Delhi Walking Tour and Qutub Complex
After breakfast, we begin with Old Delhi, which is best done on foot and rickshaw before the traffic thickens. Cycle rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, the spice bazaar at Khari Baoli where cardamom and pepper sacks stack six feet high, then a step inside the Jama Masjid courtyard and a paratha lunch at a hundred year old lane joint. Post lunch, drive to the Qutub Minar complex for the twelfth century minaret and the iron pillar that has not rusted in sixteen hundred years, then Safdarjung’s Tomb on the way back. Evening free for Khan Market shopping or a quiet hotel bar. Overnight in Delhi.

DAY 3
Delhi to Agra via Sikandra
Check out after breakfast and begin the Yamuna Expressway drive to Agra, roughly 3.5 hours across 210 kilometres of six lane road. En route stop at Sikandra to see Akbar’s tomb, an underrated Mughal monument that sees a tenth of the Taj crowd. Reach Agra by lunch, check in at the hotel, then an afternoon round of Agra Fort with the Diwan i Aam, Sheesh Mahal and the Musamman Burj where Shah Jahan spent his final years. Sunset stop at Mehtab Bagh across the Yamuna for a picture of the Taj from the far bank without the ticket queue. Overnight in Agra.

DAY 4
Sunrise Taj Mahal and Drive to Jaipur
Early wake up at 5.45 am for the sunrise Taj Mahal round. Gates open at 6.15 am and the eastern gate is our preferred entry because the queue is thinner. Two hours at the monument with the licensed ASI guide, including the marble inlay work at the tomb chamber. Back to hotel for a proper breakfast and check out by 11 am. Drive to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar’s abandoned sandstone capital, roughly 45 minutes off the main road but worth the detour. Lunch stop at Bharatpur and onward to Jaipur, arrival by 6 pm. Overnight in Jaipur.

DAY 5
Amber Fort, City Palace and Bazaar Round
Breakfast, then out to Amber Fort by 9 am. Jeep ascent to the fort gate, walk through the Sheesh Mahal mirror hall, Ganesh Pol and the Sukh Niwas cooling chamber. Descend by 12 noon and drive to Jal Mahal for a lake photo stop. Post lunch, the City Palace and the Chandra Mahal royal wing, followed by Jantar Mantar astronomical observatory. Evening at Johari Bazaar for gemstones and Bapu Bazaar for block print textiles. Rickshaw ride through the pink walled old city closes the day. Overnight in Jaipur.

DAY 6
Jaipur Cultural Half Day and Leisure
A gentler day. Morning visit to Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing at Amber village to understand the block print craft that fills Jaipur’s bazaars, then Galtaji, the monkey temple set inside a natural rock cleft. Return to hotel for a long lunch. Afternoon is genuinely free, most Australian guests use it for a Rajasthani cooking class we can arrange at short notice, or a massage at the hotel spa. Evening dinner at Chokhi Dhani, the folk village on the Jaipur outskirts, with dance, camel ride and a thali dinner. Overnight in Jaipur.

DAY 7
Jaipur to Delhi via Neemrana
Check out after breakfast and begin the drive back to Delhi via NH48, roughly 5 hours. Lunch stop at Neemrana Fort Palace, the fifteenth century hillside heritage hotel that runs a fixed lunch menu for day visitors. Reach Delhi by 5 pm, check in at your hotel near IGI Airport. Evening free for last shopping at Dilli Haat or the Aerocity mall. Farewell dinner at Bukhara or Indian Accent if the wallet has room. Overnight in Delhi.

DAY 8
Fly Back to Australia
Depending on your return flight timing, the day is either a slow packed morning or an early airport drop. Air India Delhi to Sydney and Qantas Delhi to Melbourne both operate in the early afternoon window, so a mid morning airport transfer works cleanly. Our representative sees you off at IGI Terminal 3 departures with boarding pass check and porter assistance. Post trip follow up on email for photographs, reviews and any Blue Wildebeest Society donation the booking triggered.
