Overview

The Golden Triangle tour is one of the most popular tourist routes in India, covering three major cities – Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur. It is called the “Golden Triangle” because if you connect these cities on a map, they form a triangle. This 5-day Golden Triangle tour of India is a great way to explore some of the best things India has to offer, from historical sites and beautiful monuments to colourful markets and different styles of culture, all in a short time. The journey starts in Delhi, then moves to Agra, continues to Jaipur, and ends back in Delhi.

Delhi, being the capital of India, is a big and lively city that gives you a mix of the old and new. It is divided into Old Delhi and New Delhi. Old Delhi is known for its narrow streets, old buildings, busy local markets, and historical places like the Red Fort and Jama Masjid. New Delhi feels more open and modern, with wide roads and important places like India Gate, the President’s house, and Parliament. Delhi has a little bit of everything – tradition, history, modern lifestyle, and culture all together.

Next comes Agra, which is mostly famous for the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is made of white marble and looks especially beautiful during sunrise and sunset. People from all over the world come to see it. Along with the Taj Mahal, Agra also has the Agra Fort and the tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, which is also called the “Baby Taj” because of its design and size.

After Agra, the tour takes you to Jaipur, also known as the Pink City because many buildings there are painted in pink. Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan and is known for its royal palaces, forts, and traditional markets. You can visit famous places like the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), Amber Fort which gives a lovely view of the city, and the City Palace where the royal family still lives. There is also Jantar Mantar, an old observatory built to study the stars. Jaipur is a good place to shop for traditional clothes, jewellery, and handmade items.

The tour ends with the return to Delhi. Though the trip lasts only five days, it covers so much in terms of history, culture, and sightseeing. The 5-day Golden Triangle Tour gives you a complete experience of North India’s beauty and heritage. From the busy charm of Delhi to the romantic air of Agra and the regal beauty of Jaipur, this journey offers memories that will stay with you for a lifetime.

Next, you will drive past the majestic Rashtrapati Bhavan, also known as the Presidential House, and admire its grand architecture from the outside. This colonial-era building is still used as the official residence of the President of India. Delhi to Agra

On the second day of your Golden Triangle Tour, we begin the morning with a road trip from Delhi to Agra, a city located in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The drive is around 230 kilometres and usually takes about 3 to 4 hours, depending on traffic. As you travel, you will notice the scenery changing—from the busy streets of Delhi to calmer fields and small towns along the way. Once you arrive in Agra, our team will help you check in at the hotel so you can rest for a while before heading out.

In the afternoon, you will visit the famous Taj Mahal, one of the most beautiful and admired buildings in the world. It is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This white marble monument was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died while giving birth to their 14th child. It took around 22 years to complete, with the help of over 20,000 workers and craftsmen, and cost nearly 32 crore rupees at that time. The Taj Mahal is not just known for its size, but also for its fine carvings, detailed inlay work, and the way the white marble glows at different times of the day. The peaceful gardens, fountains, and its reflection in the water make the whole experience very calming and romantic.

After spending time at the Taj Mahal, the evening is free for you to explore Agra’s local markets. You can shop for beautiful marble items, leather goods, traditional jewelry, local crafts, and Agra’s special sweet called petha, which is made from ash gourd. Agra to Jaipur (via Fatehpur Sikri)

After breakfast, we leave Agra and start our trip to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. Jaipur is also called the Pink City. The drive is about 240 kilometres and takes around 4 to 5 hours. On the way, we stop at Fatehpur Sikri, an old town that was once the capital of Emperor Akbar.

Fatehpur Sikri is made of red stone and was built in the 1500s. The city has many big and beautiful buildings. You can see the huge Buland Darwaza gate, the quiet Tomb of Salim Chishti, the large Jama Masjid mosque, and the Panch Mahal palace with many open spaces. The city was left long ago because there was no water, but the buildings still stand and show the history of that time.

      Jaipur

The day begins with a visit to the impressive Amber Fort. This fort, built in the 16th century, is one of the oldest and most beautiful forts in Rajasthan. It sits on a hill and offers stunning views of the surrounding area. After exploring the fort’s grand halls, courtyards, and temples, you have the option to enjoy a traditional elephant ride up the hill to the fort’s entrance, which is a unique and memorable experience.

Next, we travel to the Hawa Mahal, also known as the Palace of the Breeze. This five-story palace is famous for its small windows. The design allowed royal women to observe street life and festivals outside without being seen themselves, respecting the customs of privacy at the time. The palace also lets in cool breezes, keeping it comfortable during hot days.

In the afternoon, we visit the City Palace, a royal residence that is still home to Jaipur’s royal family. Inside, you can explore the museum, which houses royal costumes, weapons, paintings, and other treasures that tell the story of Jaipur’s rich heritage. Afterward, we head to Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory built in the early 18th century. It contains large instruments used to study the stars, planets, and time, showcasing the scientific knowledge of that era.

The rest of the day is left free for you to relax, shop, or explore Jaipur’s vibrant markets and streets at your own pace.
