    Arrive Bhopal

    Bhopal, known for its history of unmatched gore and glory, is set around a picturesque lake. In the afternoon, we visit the Shamlah and Igdah Hills which have scenic views of the city. We tour Shaukat Mahal, designed by a French architect and then Sadar Manzil, the hall for the public audience of the former kings of Bhopal.

    Sanchi - Vidisha

    Sanchi is a world famous Buddhist spot, with almost all forms of Buddhist architecture. It has stupas, chaityas and monasteries. It is also known for its Buddhist art and sculpture, the most well known being the Ashoka Pillar.
    Later we visit Vidisha, a historical trade centre. It has the remains of a Brahmanical shrine, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. We then return to Bhopal.

    Bhimbetka

    We visit the Bhimbetka Caves in the morning, a world heritage site. From the Neolithic age, it had over 700 rock shelters. The caves have paintings depicting the everyday lives of the cave – dwellers. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

    Indore

    Indore was planned and founded by Rani Ahilyabai Holkar on the banks of rivers Saraswati and Khan. After check in, in the afternoon, we visit the temples of Bada Ganapati and Kanch Mandir, a Jain temple made from glass.

    Ujjain

    Situated on the banks of River Shipra, Ujjain is one of the greatest cities of olden day India and one of the venues of the Kumbh Mela, which happens every twelve years. In the evening we return to Indore.

    Mandu

    In the morning we leave for Mandu by road, which is situated at a height of 2000ft. It was once the fort capital of Parmar rulers of Malwa. In the afternoon we visit Jahaz Mahal, a ship palace, built between two artificial lakes and the Hindola Mahal or the swinging palace.

    Maheshwar - Omkareshwar

    In the morning we leave for Maheshwar, 80km away, built at the beginning of Indian civilization. It is now known for its hand – woven Maheshwari saris. We then go on to Omkareshwar, which is shaped like the Hindu symbol, Om. We then return to Indore.
