Day By Day Itinerary
DAY 1
Arrival in Delhi from Italy
Italian flyers on the nonstop from Rome Fiumicino or the one-stop from Milan Malpensa land at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, Terminal 3, in the morning or early afternoon. Our representative meets you at arrivals with a signboard and completes the transfer to a heritage-style hotel in central Delhi. The rest of the day is deliberately unstructured so the eight-hour flight window catches up at your own pace. Late afternoon, an optional walking loop through Lodhi Gardens rewards first-day travellers with sandstone tombs of the Sayyid and Lodhi sultans. Dinner at the hotel.

DAY 2
Delhi City Tour
A full sightseeing day begins after breakfast with a licensed local guide. Old Delhi opens the morning: a cycle-rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, a visit to Jama Masjid, and the exterior of Red Fort with time built in for photography. Lunch at a curated restaurant known for Mughlai vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Afternoon shifts to New Delhi: Humayun’s Tomb, the architectural draft that later became the Taj Mahal, followed by India Gate, drive-past Rashtrapati Bhavan and the Secretariat, ending at Qutub Minar as light turns. Return to hotel.

DAY 3
Delhi to Agra
After breakfast, drive to Agra on the Yamuna Expressway, roughly three and a half hours depending on traffic. Check in at your Agra hotel and take lunch. Afternoon sightseeing begins at Agra Fort, the red-sandstone Mughal citadel where Shah Jahan spent his final years in view of the Taj. Continue to Mehtab Bagh across the Yamuna for the sunset silhouette of the Taj Mahal from the opposite bank, a quieter angle few group tours schedule. Evening at leisure, with an optional Kinari Bazaar walk for marble inlay workshops. Dinner at hotel.

DAY 4
Agra Taj Sunrise, Drive to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri
Early sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, the ideal light window for photography and the coolest hour for walking the plinth. Return to hotel for breakfast, check out, and begin the drive to Jaipur with a break at Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar’s abandoned Mughal capital. The court complex, Buland Darwaza, and Jama Masjid deserve two hours minimum. Lunch en route at a vetted highway restaurant. Continue to Jaipur, arriving late afternoon. Check in at your Jaipur heritage hotel, typically a converted haveli or heritage property. Evening at leisure, dinner at hotel or a Rajasthani restaurant.

DAY 5
Jaipur City Tour
Full-day Jaipur sightseeing with your local guide. Morning at Amber Fort, reached by jeep ride up the ramp; the mirror hall and Ganesh Pol reward slow looking. Continue to a Jal Mahal photo stop and Panna Meena ka Kund stepwell, a lesser-visited Rajput waterwork favoured by returning travellers. Lunch at a Rajput-themed restaurant with thali options. Afternoon covers City Palace with its costume and armoury museum, Jantar Mantar observatory, and Hawa Mahal exterior photography. A block-printing workshop can replace Jantar Mantar on request. Evening free for walled-city bazaar shopping. Dinner at hotel.

DAY 6
Jaipur to Udaipur (Flight)
Morning transfer to Jaipur airport for the domestic flight to Udaipur, roughly one hour, or by road if you prefer a longer scenic drive with Pushkar and Ranakpur stops (adds one night). On arrival in Udaipur, transfer to a lake-facing heritage hotel. Afternoon at leisure; the lake breeze and slower pace are deliberately preserved as a mid-tour rest point. Evening boat ride on Lake Pichola, with a stop at Jagmandir Island, ends at sunset with the City Palace lit behind. Dinner at hotel or a rooftop restaurant with lake views.

DAY 7
Udaipur City Tour
Morning tour of City Palace Udaipur with your guide, a multi-courtyard complex where each generation of Mewar rulers added a wing. Continue to Jagdish Temple, an Indo-Aryan temple in the walled city, and Sahelion ki Bari, the garden of the maids of honour, with its lotus pool and marble elephants. Lunch break in the old town. Afternoon covers the Vintage Car Museum, or a miniature painting workshop on request. Late afternoon transfer to Ambrai Ghat for one of the best photography angles across the lake. Optional ayurvedic spa treatment. Dinner at hotel.

DAY 8
Udaipur to Varanasi (Flight via Delhi)
Morning transfer to Udaipur airport for the flight to Varanasi, usually via Delhi. Arrive Varanasi by early afternoon; transfer to a riverfront or ghat-side hotel. Evening ghat walk to Dashashwamedh for the Ganga Aarti at sunset, a ritual of lamps, chants, and river offerings that runs every evening. Your guide arranges seated viewing on a boat for the best perspective. For Italian travellers with an interest in continuous civic history, the parallel with Rome as an old city of unbroken lived tradition often anchors the whole trip. Dinner at hotel.

DAY 9
Varanasi and Departure
Pre-dawn boat ride on the Ganga to see sunrise over the ghats and the daily rituals begin: bathers, priests, cremations along Manikarnika Ghat, and small side lanes waking up. Return to hotel for breakfast. Late morning visit to Sarnath, where the Buddha delivered his first sermon, with the Dhamek Stupa and archaeological museum. Lunch at hotel or a local vegetarian restaurant. Transfer to Varanasi airport for the domestic connection to Delhi and onward international flight to Rome, Milan, or Venice. Optional extensions include Kerala backwaters, a deeper Rajasthan cut, or Himalayan foothills.
