Surrounded by serenity, tranquillity and nature, Bhutan is truly a haven of beauty and simplicity. Ranked in the world, as the eighth happiest country in the world, it is indeed not a surprise how people manage to live stress free, happy lives here. Seated in the lap of the Himalayas, Bhutan is blessed with scenic beauty, lush green landscapes, and unique wildlife that are looked after dearly by the country and its citizens.

Bhutan is also known as the Land of the Thunder Dragon and this is so, because of the violent storms that descend into the land from the Himalayas.

Thimphu Tsechu, one of the largest festivals of the capital, is held in honour of the Drukpa Buddhist saints, and is a festival which is celebrated in great galore and gusto. In the presence of His holiness Je Khenpo who is a monk and a civil servant, the locals gather in huge numbers to rejoice and remember the teachings in form of dance. While this is just the cultural side of Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, in this trip we hope to explore the city’s historical and natural facets as well. Apart from Thimphu, Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan is also a must visit. With valleys of think vegetation and dense forest, one is sure to get hypnotised with the natural beauty of this place.
