      AIRPORT – SIGIRIYA - APPROX 04 HRS DRIVE

      Upon arrival in Sri Lanka, you will be greeted by our representative at the airport and ensure a hassle-free transfer to Sigiriya and begin your fun from Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage en route.

      Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage: It is the caring home for abandoned and wounded elephants and the most loved destination for tourists and locals alike. Here, you will witness the baby elephants from around the country thrive and a highly successful breeding program. The bathing and feeding times are the perfect time to visit as you can observe these gentle giants playing with water and can feed them. 

      Thereafter, from an exhilarating escape, check in to a comfortable hotel in Sigiriya and enjoy dinner and a relaxed overnight stay.

      SIGIRIYA

      After breakfast, it’s time to witness the 8th wonder of the world- the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Dating back to the 5th Century A.D., located on the summit of a high outcrop, this ‘astounding’city was the royal citadel of King Kassapa for over 18 years. It is no less than miraculous a feat of artistry and engineering. Its unique features, dating back in history, and magnificent frescoes take the hearts of visitors. 

      Enjoy a thrilling jeep safari at Minneriya National Park and spot gentle giants (elephants) in their natural habitat. Also, don’t miss the splendid wildlife event ‘The Gathering’ at Minneriya reservoir, where hundreds of elephants arrive by herd. As the water level decreases during the dry season, they gather to feast on the lush grass, quench their thirst and enjoy water play.

      Head back to the hotel, enjoy local delicacies for dinner and relax.

      SIGIRIYA – NUWARA ELIYA – APPROX 05 HRS DRIVE

      After breakfast, let’s test your endurance as your next adventure begins by climbing to Dambulla cave temple, a World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla. It is situated in the centre of the country, about 148 kilometres east of Colombo and 72 kilometres north of Kandy. It is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex with admiring architecture in Sri Lanka.

      Travel to the hill capital of Nuwara Eliya and visit the spice garden en route to Matale. The spices of this garden have been sought after for centuries and continue to be a celebrated export, even today. Head to Ramboda waterfalls and a tea factory along the way and enjoy, relax, and explore the beauty. 

      Visit the old colonial outpost, the Grand Hotel, referred to as ‘Little England’ in Nuwara Eliya. Perched at a height of 6,200 feet above sea level, this location gives you the illusion of stepping into an old English town with neat hedges, arty-crafty cottages, and charming old buildings with an old-fashioned golf course and horse racing events to complete the picture.

      NUWARA ELIYA CITY TOUR

      This day is full-packed. After breakfast, enjoy a city tour of Nuwara Eliya. Explore the charming highlights of Nuwara Eliya, including Sitha Amman Temple, Hakgala Botanical Garden (Ashok Vatika), Gregory Lake, and Victoria Park.

      Sitha Amman Temple: The stunning temple architecture will immediately capture your attention. Inside, you will find ancient statues of Rama and Sita. The temple itself is a modern building, beautifully adorned with sculptures, paintings, and pillars, all depicting the epic story of Rama and Sita.

      Gregory Lake: Nestled in the heart of Sri Lanka’s tea country, Gregory Lake (also known as Gregory Reservoir) was constructed in 1873 during the tenure of British Governor Sir William Gregory. This serene lake and its surrounding area offer a tranquil escape and are one of Nuwara Eliya’s most scenic spots.

      Victoria Park: Located near the Nuwara Eliya Post Office, this public park was once part of the Hakgala Botanical Gardens. Established in 1897 in honour of Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee, it is a peaceful retreat amidst lush greenery.

      Hakgala Botanical Gardens (Ashok Vatika): These gardens hold significant historical and mythological importance, as they are believed to be the place where King Ravana kept Sita captive, forcing her to marry him. It was here that Hanuman visited her, bringing news from Rama and offering to carry her back, which she declined out of respect for Rama’s honour. The majestic gardens remain, with a portion of it still linked to the legendary past. It is also said that Hanuman nearly destroyed the gardens to demonstrate the opposition Ravana faced.

      NUWARA ELIYA - BENTOTA– APPROX 06 HRS DRIVE

      After breakfast, continue your holidays to the resort town of Bentota via Kithulgala. If you are an adventure lover, enjoy the incredible white water rafting in Kithulgala. This 5km rafting experience on the spectacular Kelani River offers five major rapids and four minor rapids. Enjoy the thrill and the serene beauty of the surroundings under the supervision of instructors who give you safety briefings and safety gear so that nothing becomes a hurdle in your way of enjoyment. 

      Keep your enjoyment alive and take part in the Galle city tour. 

      The heritage city of Galle: Galle City stood strong against invasions- from colonial powers and nature’s volatile outbursts for centuries. Visit the famous Dutch Fort that was first built by the Portuguese, fortified by the Dutch and preserved by the British. Striking daily by the ocean, this fort, even with colonial architecture, survived the onslaught of a tsunami and is now a famous tourist spot.

      BENTOTA CITY TOUR

      After breakfast, start your Bentota city tour, which is located on the South coast of Sri Lanka. This place is no less than heaven for bird lovers and nature enthusiasts as you can witness some rare species like Indian herons and vegetation along the river, which harbours many local species as well as winter migrants. Many interesting sightseeing tours are possible from here, such as Turtle Hatchery, Madu River Boat trips on Bentota River, etc. 

      Madhu River Boat Ride: Enjoy a boat ride on Madhu River while admiring its rich bio-diversity that includes a range of aquatic and avian life as well as wetland-dwelling amphibians, reptiles, and mammals that inhabit the environs of this natural treasure. The surrounding is home to 11 species of agnatic mollusks and 14 land-dwelling mollusks, 70 species of fish, 31 types of reptiles, 50 kinds of butterflies, and 111 species of birds. This is the best place to seek solitude and praise beauty. 

      Turtle Hatchery at Kosgoda: Visit the Turtle Hatchery at Kosgoda if you are interested in conservation programs. It is a successful conservation effort established to protect Sri Lanka’s turtles from extinction.

      BENTOTA - COLOMBO – AIRPORT -APPROX 03.30 HRS DRIVE

      After breakfast, drive to Colombo for a city tour and shopping. Colombo, Sri Lanka’s largest city, is a mix of old-world charm and modern attractions. Explore its lively streets, visit famous landmarks like Galle Face Green and Viharamahadevi Park, and enjoy beautiful sunset views along the western coastline.

      Later, enjoy some shopping in Colombo. If you are looking for great deals, Pettah Bazaar is the place to go. For a more relaxed shopping experience, visit popular malls like Majestic City, Liberty Plaza, Crescat, ODEL, and Arina, where you can find clothes, souvenirs, books, and more.
