Overview

Explore the spiritual heritage sites of Andhra Pradesh with our specially curated 5 nights and 6 days Andhra Pradesh Buddhist Pilgrimage tour package. The Andhra Pradesh Buddhist Pilgrimage tour is a journey that brings people closer to the history of Buddha and Buddhist pilgrimage. The journey is largely through the Maha Stupa, widely believed to be the second largest stupa in India, and nearly 2,000 years old. This masterpiece, along with over 140 Buddhist monuments scattered throughout the state of Andhra Pradesh, dated from the 3rd Century BC to the 14th Century AD, were the living storytellers of the Buddhist community, which had established itself in South India for a long time.

The visit starts in Hyderabad, which is known for its diversity. The diverse parts are so close to each other, minarets next to palaces, and bazaars that are alive with the sound of customers and sellers. Besides Charminar and the Salar Jung Museum, which unveil the city’s cultural richness, and Anandha Vihara, which was inaugurated by the Dalai Lama, the city also holds many surprises. On the way to Nagarjunakonda, the journey becomes different as the travelers visit the Buddhist University created in the 3rd century AD. Getting to the island’s museum by boat is like going back to ancient times, but with the ruins, viharas, and chaityas depicting the early Buddhist devotion, the past gets re-lived. This is the part of the Nagarjunakonda Amravati Tour that is indeed rare and special.

Next, the tour takes travelers to Amravati with its museum and sacred stupa, one of the most important relics of Buddhist India. Along with the inscriptions and relics found inside the stupas of Bhattiprolu, Ghantasala, Neelamkondapalli, and Jagayapeta, which convey the history of the Mauryan Empire, these places are now vibrant sites. Moreover, the beautiful Undavalli caves, which are man-made out of sandstone, are the last thing that travelers can see on the trip, providing them with a reminder of the region’s diverse spiritual and cultural artistry.

History and peace come hand in hand at each stop during this Andhra Pradesh Buddhist sites tour, intricately crafted by Memorable India. It is not just a tour through history but a chance to experience the serene nature and peace of the region when looking at gigantic stupas in person, walking through deserted monasteries, or gazing at calm rivers.
