Overview

The most prominent myth tells us during the war between Pandavas and Kauravas, the kith and kin of Pandavas were killed. In order to hide themselves, Pandavas took pilgrimage but Lord Vishweshwara was far away in Kailasa. After knowing this, Pandavas left Kashi for Himalayas via Haridwar. On their way, they saw Lord Shankar but Lord Shankar escaped from their sight. Lord Shankara was later recognized by Pandavas in the form of Nandi. Buffalo Nandi hid under the earth’s crust when Bheem tried to pull him through its tail. Nandi later appeared as Lord Shiva but in five new forms. Hump of Nandi reached Kedarnath, Face at Rudraprayag, Arms reached Tungnath, navel and stomach at Madhyamaheshwar and the matted hair of Shiva reached Kalpeshwar.

Day By Day Itinerary

DAY 1

Delhi - Haridwar (230 Km)

Pickup from Delhi Airport/ Railway station, drive to Haridwar. On arrival, check at hotel. Evening reserved for Ganga Aarti at Har ki Pauri. Night spent at hotel.
DAY 2

Haridwar to Guptkashi (205Km)

After breakfast, drive to Gaurikund via Rudraprayag. On arrival, Check in hotel.
DAY 3

Guptkashi - Kedarnath (54 Km)

After breakfast drive to Gaurikund and afterwards a trek of 14 Km to reach Kedarnath. Night spent at hotel.
DAY 4

Kedarnath - Guptkashi (54 Km)

After breakfast, trek down to Gauri Kund. After having lunch, drive back to Guptkashi. Night spent at hotel.
DAY 5

Guptkashi - Gaundhar (17 Km)

After packing lunch, start trek to Gaundhar. After dinner, night spent in camps.
DAY 6

Gaundhar to Madhmaheshwar (10 Km)

After packing lunch, start trek to Madhmaheshwar. After dinner, night spent in camps.
DAY 7

Madhmaheshwar - Gaundhar (10 Km)

After packing lunch, start return trek to Gaundhar. After dinner, night spent in camps.
DAY 8

Gaundhar - Ukimath (28 Km)

After breakfast, start 12 Km trek to Jagasu. After resting again start the trek of 16 Km to Ukhimath. After dinner, night spent at hotel.
DAY 9

Ukimath - Tungnath - Chopta (43 Km)

After 32 Km drive to Chopta, will start 4 Km trek to Tungnath. Return trek to Chopta in the afternoon. After dinner, night will be spent in camps.
DAY 10

Chopta - Panargupha (40 Km)

After breakfast, drive 30 Km to Sagar and then 10 Km trek to Panargupha. After dinner, Night spent in camp.
DAY 11

Panargupha - Rudranath (12 Km)

After packing lunch, start trek to Rudranath. After dinner, night spent in camps.
DAY 12

Rudranath - Dumuk (18 Km)

After packing lunch, trek to Dumuk. After dinner, night spent in camps.
DAY 13

Dumuk - Kalpeshwar Mahadev (14 Km)

After packing lunch, start 14 Km trek to Urgam/ Kalpeshwar Mahadev. After dinner, night spent in camps.
DAY 14

Kalpeshwar Mahadev - Rudraprayag (114 Km)

After breakfast, start 9 Km trek to Helang. Drive to Rudraprayag and check in hotel.
DAY 15

Rudraprayag - Haridwar (160 Km)

Drive to Haridwar via Srinagar, Devprayag and Rishikesh. Check in hotel on arrival.
DAY 16

Haridwar - Delhi (230 Km)

After breakfast, drive back to Delhi. Drop at Delhi Airport or Railway station for further destination.
