Important Notes for Rajasthan Historical Tour

  • Entry Fees and Timings – Many heritage sites like forts and palaces have specific entry fees and operating hours. It’s wise to check ahead, especially for Jantar Mantar, City Palace, and Mehrangarh Fort.
  • Dress Modestly – While Rajasthan is a popular tourist destination, many temples and local markets prefer visitors to wear conservative clothing. Carrying a scarf or stole is also helpful.
  • Hydration Is Crucial – Rajasthan’s dry climate, especially in Jaisalmer and Bikaner, demands consistent hydration. Carry a reusable water bottle and stay hydrated during day tours.
  • Footwear Etiquette – At religious places such as the Dilwara Temples, Dashavatar Temple, and various Jain shrines, removing shoes is mandatory. Keep socks handy if hot surfaces are uncomfortable.
  • Avoid Over packing – Pack light but efficiently. Light cottons are ideal for the day, and a jacket or shawl is advisable for cooler evenings, especially in winter months or Mount Abu.
  • Photography Restrictions – Some palaces and museums charge extra for photography or disallow it entirely. Look for signage or ask local guides before clicking pictures.
  • Book Safaris in Advance – Ranthambore safari slots fill quickly. Book your morning or evening Canter/Jeep safaris well in advance, especially during peak season (October–March).
  • Respect Local Customs – Rajasthanis are deeply rooted in tradition. Greeting locals with a polite “Namaste,” removing shoes when entering homes, and respecting elders are appreciated gestures.
  • Cultural Performances May Vary – Events like folk music and dance performances at Sam Sand Dunes or Chokhi Dhani depend on weather and local scheduling. Confirm availability with your tour operator.
  • Be Desert Smart – If you are camping in Jaisalmer or exploring Khuri dunes, wear sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat or scarf to protect from sun and sand.
  • Carry Cash for Remote Areas – Although cities like Jaipur and Udaipur accept cards and UPI, smaller villages like Deogarh or Luni may only accept cash for local purchases.
  • Train & Road Transits – Be prepared for some long drives (5–7 hours) between destinations. Carry snacks, water, and entertainment for road journeys across the vast Rajasthani landscape.
  • Language Tips – Hindi and English are widely spoken, but a few Rajasthani words like padharo (welcome) or dhanyavaad (thank you) can delight locals.
  • Vegetarian Options Abound – Vegetarian travellers will find it easy to explore local cuisine like dal baati churma, gatte ki sabzi, and ker sangri. Meat dishes are available but less common in smaller towns.
  • Medical Precautions – Carry a basic medical kit with common medicines for digestion, headaches, or allergies. Pharmacies are available but may be spaced far apart in remote regions.
  • Sunrise & Sunset Magic – Plan visits to monuments like the Taj Mahal, Sam dunes, and Pichola Lake around sunrise or sunset to experience their most breath-taking views.
  • Respect Sacred Sites – Many sites, especially Jain temples like Ranakpur and Dilwara, have rules about leather goods and noise levels. Follow all posted guidelines respectfully.
  • Accommodations Vary Widely – Expect everything from palace hotels to heritage havelis and desert camps. Pack accordingly and check hotel amenities before booking.
  • Weekend & Holiday Crowds – Major tourist hubs like Jaipur, Agra, and Udaipur can get very crowded on weekends and national holidays. Plan sightseeing tours early in the morning to avoid rush.
  • Tipping Culture – Though not mandatory, tipping your hotel staff, guides, and safari drivers is customary and appreciated—typically 50–100 INR per day for good service.

Best Time to Visit Rajasthan Historical tour

Planning your 15 Days Rajasthan Historical Forts and Palaces Tour at the right time is essential to experience the state’s vibrant culture, architectural grandeur, and desert beauty without discomfort. The best time to visit Rajasthan is from October to March, when the weather is cool and pleasant, ideal for sightseeing, desert safaris, and heritage exploration.

Winter (October to March): The Ideal Travel Window

The winter months are considered the peak tourist season in Rajasthan. Temperatures range between 10°C and 27°C, making it perfect for walking through forts, palaces, and open-air markets.

October to December: This period offers crisp air and festive energy. You can attend events like the Pushkar Camel Fair, Marwar Festival in Jodhpur, and Desert Festival in Jaisalmer.

January to March: The state is at its most welcoming. This is the best time to explore heritage hotels, enjoy boat rides in Udaipur, or watch the golden sunset over the dunes in Jaisalmer.

If you are booking 15 Days Rajasthan Historical Tour Packages, these months ensure the most comfortable and memorable journey through the forts and palaces.

Monsoon (July to September): Offbeat and Refreshing

While Rajasthan receives less rainfall compared to other Indian states, monsoon in Rajasthan can be a surprisingly romantic time to visit. Udaipur, Mount Abu, and Deogarh bloom with greenery, and the monsoon charm around Lake Pichola is enchanting.

However, desert regions like Jaisalmer and Bikaner may remain hot and humid. Sightseeing could be interrupted by sudden showers. Still, this is a great time for budget Rajasthan travel packages, as hotels and resorts often offer discounts.

Summer (April to June): Harsh but Unique

Summer in Rajasthan can be intense, with temperatures often crossing 40°C, especially in Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Jodhpur. However, Mount Abu and parts of Udaipur and Deogarh remain relatively cooler.

Though not recommended for all travellers, summer tours are perfect for those seeking a quiet, crowd-free experience. Early morning or late evening sightseeing and luxury heritage stays can still make the journey worthwhile.

Festive Months to Consider

October: Diwali celebrations in Jaipur and Udaipur light up the state with grandeur.

November: Ideal for cultural immersion with fairs and religious festivities.

January: Republic Day and Makar Sankranti add a patriotic and festive layer to your visit.

March: Celebrate Holi in Rajasthan—an unforgettable riot of colour and joy.
