Day By Day Itinerary
DAY 1
Arrival in Delhi and Transfer to Jaipur
Your Qantas or Air India non-stop lands at Indira Gandhi International Terminal 3, where our chauffeur receives you with a name-boarded meet-and-greet. After a refreshment stop, begin the 260-kilometre transfer to Jaipur on the expressway, roughly five hours with one halt at Behror. Australian travellers on the morning Sydney-Delhi flight typically reach the hotel by late afternoon, in time for masala chai in the courtyard. Those preferring a slower start can opt for a Delhi overnight. Check in at a heritage property like Alsisar Haveli. Overnight in Jaipur.

DAY 2
Jaipur Full Day Sightseeing
Post-breakfast departure at 8:30 for Amber Fort, arriving before the sun climbs. Ascend by jeep and explore Sheesh Mahal, Diwan-i-Aam, and Ganesh Pol. Return via Jal Mahal for a photo stop. Lunch at a heritage restaurant such as 1135 AD or Suvarna Mahal. Afternoon covers City Palace, Jantar Mantar observatory, and the Hawa Mahal facade. Sunset from Nahargarh Fort with a Rajasthani thali dinner is available on request. Families often add a block-printing workshop at Sanganer, subject to schedule confirmation. Overnight in Jaipur.

DAY 3
Jaipur to Pushkar to Jodhpur
Early departure at 7:30 for the 340-kilometre transfer, roughly eight hours with sightseeing. Halt at Pushkar for two hours: visit Brahma Temple, walk the ghats, and, in November, catch fragments of the Camel Fair. Vegetarian lunch is standard as the town observes strict food rules, with a Jain-thali option available. Continue to Jodhpur via the Ajmer bypass, arriving in the blue city by 5:30 pm. Check in at RAAS or Ajit Bhawan. A rooftop dinner at Indique with Mehrangarh Fort illuminated behind is our default. Overnight in Jodhpur.

DAY 4
Jodhpur Sightseeing
Post-breakfast, ascend to Mehrangarh Fort, one of India’s largest hill forts. Two to three hours covers the museum, Moti Mahal, and the ramparts, with audio guide included. Continue to Jaswant Thada marble cenotaph, then Umaid Bhawan Palace museum. Post-lunch, a two-hour walking tour of the old town: Toorji ka Jhalra stepwell, Clock Tower, Sardar Market spice stalls, and the indigo-blue Brahmin quarter. Evening free for Sadar Market shopping for bandhani textiles and Marwari silverwork. Dinner at the hotel or a rooftop cafe overlooking the fort. Overnight in Jodhpur.

DAY 5
Jodhpur to Jaisalmer
Depart at 8:30 for the 285-kilometre transfer through the Thar desert fringe. Six to seven hours by road, with a mid-way halt at Pokhran for lunch and pottery-village browsing. The landscape shifts from Marwar scrub to full Thar around Ramdevra; camel herds appear on the highway. Arrive in the golden city by mid-afternoon. Check in at a heritage haveli or fort-view property such as Suryagarh or Nachana Haveli. A sunset walk on Gadisar Lake is our standard first-evening activity, with a chai stop at Kaku Ma’s Cafe. Overnight in Jaisalmer.

DAY 6
Jaisalmer Fort and Sam Desert Camp
Post-breakfast, explore Jaisalmer Fort, one of the few living forts with residents inside its walls. Cover Raj Mahal, the Jain temples cluster, Patwon ki Haveli, and Salim Singh ki Haveli. Lunch at a fort-side cafe. Post-lunch, depart for Sam Sand Dunes, 42 kilometres west. Camel safari at 4:30 pm, sunset over the dunes, cultural evening with Kalbelia folk dance and Manganiar music, then Rajasthani thali dinner. Overnight in a Swiss-tent luxury camp with attached bath and heating. Senior travellers can substitute a 4×4 jeep run at no extra cost.

DAY 7
Jaisalmer to Udaipur via Ranakpur
A long transfer day: 495 kilometres, approximately nine hours with the Ranakpur stop. Depart at 7:00 via the Jodhpur bypass, then Falna, then Ranakpur. The Jain temple complex is a mandatory two-hour halt: 1,444 marble pillars, none identical, each carved differently. Vegetarian lunch at the temple canteen or Maharani Bagh Orchard. Continue to Udaipur via the Aravalli hills, arriving by 6:30 pm. Check in at a lake-view heritage hotel such as Jagat Niwas Palace or Fateh Prakash. Dinner recommendation: Ambrai restaurant with a live view of the Lake Palace. Overnight in Udaipur.

DAY 8
Udaipur Sightseeing
Post-breakfast, spend two hours at the City Palace through Mor Chowk, Sheesh Mahal, and the Crystal Gallery. Jagdish Temple next door for a short visit. Lunch at Upre or Ambrai. Afternoon Lake Pichola boat ride, docking at Jag Mandir island for high tea and photographs of the Lake Palace from water level. Return to shore, then Saheliyon ki Bari and the vintage car museum if time allows. The evening light-and-sound show at the City Palace runs in English at 8:00 pm and closes the day well. Overnight in Udaipur.

DAY 9
Udaipur at Leisure or Kumbhalgarh Excursion
Two options today. Option A: a leisure day in Udaipur for shopping, spa, and a repeat lake sunset. Sadhna and Anokhi outlets stock quality Rajasthan textiles, and the Bagore ki Haveli dance show at 7:00 pm is a well-run cultural stop. Option B: a day excursion to Kumbhalgarh Fort, the Great Wall of India, 84 kilometres away, combined with the Eklingji temple complex on return. Kumbhalgarh’s outer wall runs 36 kilometres, second only to China’s. Return by 6:30 pm for a farewell dinner at Ambrai. Overnight in Udaipur.

DAY 10
Udaipur to Delhi Departure
Post-breakfast, transfer to Maharana Pratap Airport for the 55-minute domestic flight to Delhi, typically Vistara or IndiGo mid-morning. Alternative: a full-day drive via Chittorgarh (11 hours) for travellers preferring a road day. On arrival in Delhi, day-use hotel access is provided if your international departure is late evening; the chauffeur handles the transfer to Terminal 3 for your Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth-bound connection. A farewell hamper of Rajasthani chai, spices, and a hand-block-printed scarf is handed over at the airport. Post-trip WhatsApp support remains active for one week.
