Day By Day Itinerary
DAY 1
Mumbai to Udaipur
Your seven-day circuit begins with an internal flight from Mumbai to Udaipur, roughly 1 hour 30 minutes, arriving at Maharana Pratap Airport. Our representative meets you outside arrivals and drives you across the lake city to your hotel, about 40 minutes. Check in, freshen up, and use the afternoon to walk the ghats around Lake Pichola. Sunset boat rides on the lake are available for direct payment and are strongly worth doing on the first evening; the boat passes Jag Mandir and returns via the City Palace jetty. Dinner is at the hotel or a booked haveli-style rooftop restaurant with lake views. First-time visitors from South Africa should hydrate through the afternoon since coastal Mumbai humidity followed by dry Rajasthan air can dehydrate quickly. Overnight in Udaipur.

DAY 2
Udaipur city sightseeing
Post-breakfast, drive to the City Palace complex for a guided two-hour walk covering the Mor Chowk, Zenana Mahal, and Crystal Gallery. Move on to Jagdish Temple, the Saheliyon-ki-Bari water gardens, and the vintage car museum housing Maharana-era Rolls-Royce and Cadillac stock. Lunch at a heritage restaurant near Fateh Sagar. In the afternoon, take the cable car up to the Karni Mata temple for a panoramic view of Udaipur’s lake and hill topography, then drive up to Sajjangarh Monsoon Palace for sunset. This is a walking-heavy day, so travellers with knee concerns can skip the Sajjangarh climb and rest at the hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Udaipur.

DAY 3
Udaipur to Jodhpur via Ranakpur
After breakfast, drive to Jodhpur through Ranakpur, roughly 5 hours 30 minutes total including the Ranakpur stop. The 15th-century Ranakpur Jain Temple, carved from a single block of light-cream marble and supported by 1,444 uniquely-carved pillars, is one of the most understated wonders in India. Lunch at a Ranakpur heritage property, then continue to Jodhpur. Check in by late afternoon, and use the evening for a short walk around the Clock Tower and Sardar Market for spices, textiles, and antique-style silverware. Dinner at the hotel or on the terrace of a Blue City haveli restaurant with Mehrangarh Fort lit up in the background. Overnight in Jodhpur.

DAY 4
Jodhpur sightseeing and Bishnoi village
After breakfast, drive up to Mehrangarh Fort, one of the largest fully-preserved forts in India, for the audio guide walk covering Moti Mahal, Phool Mahal, and Sheesh Mahal. Stop at Jaswant Thada, the white marble cenotaph. Lunch in the old city. In the afternoon, take a Bishnoi village jeep safari covering weaver, potter, and opium-tea households in the surrounding desert villages: a rare, quiet counterpoint to the fort-and-palace circuit and a genuine cultural exchange for South African visitors familiar with community-based tourism. Return to Jodhpur by evening for dinner. Overnight in Jodhpur.

DAY 5
Jodhpur to Jaipur via Pushkar
Post-breakfast drive to Jaipur through Pushkar, roughly 6 hours 30 minutes with the stop. Pushkar is one of the oldest continuously inhabited towns in India and hosts the only major Brahma temple in the country. Walk down to the ghats around Pushkar Lake, then lunch in a rooftop cafe overlooking the ghats. Continue to Jaipur, arriving by evening. Check in at your palace-style property. Dinner at the hotel. Jaipur is a shopping-strong city, so hold your appetite for block-print textiles, silver, and blue pottery until Day 6. Overnight in Jaipur.

DAY 6
Jaipur sightseeing
After breakfast, drive to Amber Fort with a stop at Jal Mahal for photographs. Ascend Amber by elephant, jeep, or on foot; the elephant slot is priority-arranged for our guests to avoid the 9 am queue. Cover Sheesh Mahal, Diwan-e-Aam, and the Ganesh Pol on a guided walk. Lunch at 1135 AD inside the fort. In the afternoon, move to the City Palace, Jantar Mantar observatory, and Hawa Mahal for a rooftop tea view. Evening at Chokhi Dhani or a Rajasthani thali restaurant for cultural dinner with folk dance, if included in your tier. Overnight in Jaipur.

DAY 7
Jaipur to Mumbai
After a relaxed breakfast, drive to Jaipur airport for the return flight to Mumbai, from where your onward international sector to Johannesburg or Cape Town is timed. Our specialist checks in for a quick feedback call within 48 hours of tour close on your rajasthan trip package from South Africa booking. Tour ends.
