Day By Day Itinerary
DAY 1
Mumbai to Chandigarh, Chandigarh to Shimla
The morning flight from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) touches down at Chandigarh (IXC) by early afternoon. A driver from our Chandigarh operations desk meets you at Arrivals with a name placard, loads luggage, and starts the 4-hour hill drive to Shimla via Kalka and Solan. The road climbs through Barog tunnel country and Kandaghat with two chai stops along the way. Expect to reach Shimla by evening, roughly a 90-minute buffer before sunset in summer. Check in to the booked hotel on the Mall Road side, freshen up, and take an easy walk down the Ridge and up to Christ Church if energy permits. Dinner at the hotel restaurant. The Day 1 arrival for this shimla kullu manali tour package from mumbai is timed so you land, transfer, and check in within the same daylight window, which most Mumbai-origin travellers find easier to manage than a Delhi-based split arrival with an overnight halt. Overnight in Shimla.

DAY 2
Shimla local plus half-day Kufri excursion
After a mountain breakfast, drive out to Kufri, about 45 minutes uphill from Shimla and best known for its hiking trails and winter snow belt. Winter travellers get skiing at the slope near the main road and tobogganing runs behind Indira Park. Year-round visitors get panoramic Himalayan views from the Mahasu Peak trek and short hikes into deodar forest. Yak and pony rides at Kufri are on direct payment and worth trying if you are travelling with children. Return to Shimla by afternoon and take a slow evening walk along the Mall and Scandal Point. Try the toy-train souvenir shop below the Ridge before dinner. This is the shortest driving day of the trip and a good moment to settle into hill-town rhythm before the longer Day 3 leg. Photographers should keep the Ridge and Christ Church for the blue hour just after sunset. Overnight in Shimla.

DAY 3
Shimla to Manali via Kullu Valley
This is the longest driving day of the itinerary. Depart Shimla by 7:30 am and take the route via Bilaspur, Sundernagar, Mandi, and the Beas River corridor into Kullu Valley. Total time on road is roughly 8 to 9 hours with breaks. Expect apple orchards from Sundernagar onwards, the wide Larji reservoir stretch, and the first proper glimpse of Beas white-water rapids near Aut tunnel. A halt at Kullu Bazaar is built in for Kullu shawls, Bhuttico handloom weaves, and dry-fruit stalls. Reach Manali by early evening and check in on the Old Manali side or on the Log Huts belt depending on tier. Manali sits at roughly 2,050 metres, so keep Day 3 evening light: a walk along the Mall and an early dinner. Acclimatisation matters more here than most brochures admit, especially if you are flying in from sea-level Mumbai. Overnight in Manali.

DAY 4
Manali, Solang Valley, and Atal Tunnel
After breakfast, drive up to Solang Valley, about 45 minutes from Manali. Half a day at Solang covers optional paragliding (a short tandem hop from the ridge to the meadow), zorbing, ATV rides, and the cable car if it is running. All adventure activities are on direct payment. From Solang, continue up the North Portal road to Atal Tunnel, the world’s longest highway tunnel above 10,000 feet. Cross through to the Sissu side for a short photo stop at the Sissu waterfall viewpoint, then return the same way. Total Atal Tunnel round trip from Manali is roughly 3 hours plus stops. If weather closes the tunnel or Rohtang Pass on your dates, the driver will swap in Naggar Castle and Roerich art gallery as the alternate. Return to Manali by evening; the walk from the Mall to Old Manali cafes is a pleasant end to a full activity day. Overnight in Manali.

DAY 5
Manali to Kasol via Bhuntar, evening in Parvati Valley
This is the leg most Mumbai-origin travellers under-plan and later regret rushing. Post breakfast, drive south from Manali to Bhuntar (the Kullu airstrip town), then turn east onto the Parvati Valley road that follows the Parvati River all the way to Kasol. Total drive is 3.5 to 4 hours with breaks, on a road that narrows sharply after Jari. Reach Kasol by afternoon. Kasol village runs along both banks of the Parvati, connected by a small footbridge, and the walking loop from the main road down to the river and back through the cafe strip takes an easy hour. Try a Israeli-style shakshuka lunch at one of the German Bakery cafes, then take an easy evening walk to Chalal (about 40 minutes each way through pine forest). Overnight in Kasol village or Kalga, tier-dependent. This Day 5 Kasol overnight is what turns a standard route into the shimla manali kasol tour package the keyword brief promises.

DAY 6
Kasol to Manikaran and back to Manali
After breakfast, drive 5 kilometres up the Parvati to Manikaran Sahib gurdwara. The sulphur hot springs behind the main hall are the operational feature: water hot enough to cook rice in cloth bundles, which the gurdwara langar kitchen still does. Take a langar meal (free community lunch) and walk along the sulphur stream. Optional short extension to Kheerganga base at Barshaini is available for trekker guests on request, but the standard itinerary returns to Manali by evening via Bhuntar. Total driving on Day 6 is roughly 4 to 5 hours with the Manikaran halt. Arrive Manali by evening for a relaxed dinner on the Mall. The Manikaran gurdwara stop is one of the operational reasons this itinerary is booked as a shimla manali kasol tour package rather than a Manali-only stretch: no other Himachal circuit hands you a working Sikh holy site and a natural hot spring in the same morning. Overnight in Manali.

DAY 7
Manali sightseeing and drive to Chandigarh
The Day 7 morning covers Manali’s local temple and monastery loop: the 450-year-old Hidimba Devi Temple with its four-tiered pagoda roof, Manu Temple in Old Manali, the Tibetan Monastery with its Thangka paintings and prayer wheels, and Vashisht village where natural hot sulphur springs run into public bathing tanks. Wrap up local sightseeing by lunch. Post lunch, depart for Chandigarh via the Kullu-Mandi-Bilaspur route, roughly 8 hours on the road. Reach Chandigarh by late evening and check in to the airport-side hotel for the pre-flight rest. Dinner is at the hotel. For travellers on a 6-night collapse variant of the shimla manali tour package from mumbai, this drive slots into Day 6 and Day 7 becomes the flight home. Overnight in Chandigarh.

DAY 8
Chandigarh to Mumbai flight home
After breakfast, transfer to Chandigarh airport (IXC) for the return flight to Mumbai (BOM). Most Mumbai-return departures on the direct IXC-BOM sector operate late morning or early afternoon, which gives you a relaxed check-out and a coffee at the domestic terminal before boarding. Land in Mumbai the same afternoon and the tour formally closes on arrival. The operations desk runs a 48-hour post-tour feedback check so anything worth noting on your Kasol or Manali stay is captured for the next departure. That closes your Mumbai to Shimla Kullu Manali tour package for the 2026 season.
