Day By Day Itinerary
DAY 1
Arrival at Bengaluru
The KLM overnight from Schiphol lands at Bengaluru around 01:15 IST, where our English-speaking driver meets you at Terminal 2 arrivals with a name board. Transfer to a pre-booked airport-area hotel for rest, or freshen up in a day-use room. A brief WhatsApp orientation with our local coordinator covers SIM activation and forex advice. If time allows, an optional Lalbagh Botanical Garden or Vidhana Soudha drive-by fills the afternoon. Dinner at the hotel with South Indian or Continental options. Overnight Bengaluru. Pacing stays light so jet lag settles.

DAY 2
Bengaluru to Mysuru (150 km, 3.5 hours)
After breakfast, drive to Mysuru via the Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway. En route, stop at Srirangapatna for Tipu Sultan’s summer palace and the Ranganathaswamy temple, both quiet in the mid-morning window. Check in at your Mysuru hotel by early afternoon. Later, visit Mysore Palace (Amba Vilas), a Wodeyar dynasty seat rich in Indo-Saracenic detail. Evening free for a guided Devaraja Market walk, ideal for sandalwood, silk, and spice shopping. Overnight at a curated 4-star property, upgradable to heritage hotels for a luxury routing. Heritage restaurant dinner on request.

DAY 3
Mysuru to Ooty (130 km, 4 hours)
Post-breakfast, transfer to Ooty through the Bandipur and Mudumalai tiger reserves. The route climbs hairpin bends into the Nilgiri hills, with a tea-and-photograph stop at the reserve gate. Reach Ooty by afternoon, check in, and settle into cooler mountain air. Later, visit the Ooty Botanical Gardens, laid out in the 1840s, and the Rose Garden if daylight allows. Evening at leisure on Charing Cross for shopping and homemade chocolates. This leg suits families and honeymooners alike. Overnight at a heritage or 4-star hillside property with valley-facing rooms, subject to availability.

DAY 4
Ooty to Munnar via Coimbatore (300 km, 7 hours)
An early breakfast starts a long transfer day, but the scenery earns the hours. Descend from Ooty to Coimbatore, then climb again into the Kannan Devan hills of Munnar. Stop for lunch at a highway restaurant, and photograph the tea slopes as they open up past Marayoor. Reach Munnar by evening and check in at a plantation-view resort. No additional sightseeing today, so long-haul travellers pace comfortably. If preferred, we split the transfer with a Coimbatore overnight, a common customised adjustment. Overnight at Munnar.

DAY 5
Munnar Sightseeing
Full day of Munnar exploration. Morning visit to the Tata Tea Museum in Nallathanni for a factory tour on the Kannan Devan brand’s history, followed by Mattupetty Dam and Echo Point. After lunch, drive to Kundala Lake and Top Station for panoramic views over the Palani ranges. Return for a spice-market walk and evening at leisure. This is among the most photographed segments of the trip, and Dutch travellers often extend a day for Eravikulam National Park to spot Nilgiri tahr, weather permitting. Overnight at Munnar.

DAY 6
Munnar to Thekkady (110 km, 3.5 hours)
Post-breakfast drive to Thekkady, entry point for the Periyar Tiger Reserve. Check in, then head out for a guided spice plantation walk covering cardamom, pepper, vanilla, nutmeg, and cinnamon, with notes on grading and export packing. Late afternoon, board the 90-minute Periyar Lake boat cruise with chances of spotting wild elephants, bison, and shoreline birdlife. Evening Kathakali or Kalaripayattu performance at a local cultural centre, a favourite inclusion for first-time travellers. Overnight at Thekkady in a plantation-view or lake-view property. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian menus available.

DAY 7
Thekkady to Alleppey Houseboat (140 km, 4 hours)
Post-breakfast, drive to Alleppey and board a private deluxe kettuvallam houseboat around 12:30. The onboard chef prepares a fresh Kerala lunch as the boat glides through the Vembanad backwaters. Sail past coir villages, paddy fields below sea level, and toddy-tapping palms that Dutch canal-region travellers find quietly familiar. Sunset at a lake anchorage is followed by a fresh seafood or vegetarian dinner. Overnight on the houseboat with air-conditioned cabins operational during sleeping hours per Kerala tourism norms. This backwater night is the trip’s signature inclusion.

DAY 8
Alleppey to Kochi (55 km, 1.5 hours)
Disembark the houseboat by 09:30 after breakfast. Transfer to Kochi and check in at a Fort Kochi heritage property. Afternoon walk through Jew Town, Mattancherry Palace with its Kerala mural halls, and the Paradesi Synagogue. Evening at the Chinese fishing nets along the Fort Kochi waterfront for sunset, followed by dinner at a colonial-era restaurant on Princess Street. A strong evening for photography and slow shopping. Kochi’s Portuguese, Dutch, and British quarters carry unusual resonance given the direct Dutch East India Company footprint here. Overnight at Kochi.

DAY 9
Kochi Sightseeing
Morning at leisure. Optional add-ons include a Kerala backwater kayak experience, a cooking class at a Fort Kochi home, or a spice-market walk in Broadway. Afternoon guided tour of St Francis Church, where Vasco da Gama was originally buried, followed by the Dutch Palace and the Kashi Art Gallery. Evening farewell dinner at a curated restaurant, either seafood-heavy or vegetarian as pre-booked. Kochi’s compact layout fits a lot into one day without transfer fatigue. The day can be reshaped as a temple-heavy leg, adding Ernakulam Shiva temple and Chottanikkara. Overnight Kochi.

DAY 10
Departure from Kochi International Airport
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Cochin International Airport for your onward flight. KLM and connecting European carriers typically depart between mid-morning and afternoon slots. Our driver assists with baggage handling and check-in orientation at the terminal. This marks the end of a well-paced South India routing. If your group prefers to extend, we add a Kovalam beach segment, a Chennai temple leg, or a Bengaluru shopping day on request, all common extensions across bookings. Safe travels home, with fond memories of Kerala and Karnataka.
