Ooty to Munnar via Coimbatore (300 km, 7 hours)

An early breakfast starts a long transfer day, but the scenery earns the hours. Descend from Ooty to Coimbatore, then climb again into the Kannan Devan hills of Munnar. Stop for lunch at a highway restaurant, and photograph the tea slopes as they open up past Marayoor. Reach Munnar by evening and check in at a plantation-view resort. Munnar Sightseeing

Full day of Munnar exploration. Morning visit to the Tata Tea Museum in Nallathanni for a factory tour on the Kannan Devan brand’s history, followed by Mattupetty Dam and Echo Point. After lunch, drive to Kundala Lake and Top Station for panoramic views over the Palani ranges. Return for a spice-market walk and evening at leisure. This is among the most photographed segments of the trip, and Dutch travellers often extend a day for Eravikulam National Park to spot Nilgiri tahr, weather permitting. Overnight at Munnar.

Munnar to Thekkady (110 km, 3.5 hours)

Post-breakfast drive to Thekkady, entry point for the Periyar Tiger Reserve. Check in, then head out for a guided spice plantation walk covering cardamom, pepper, vanilla, nutmeg, and cinnamon, with notes on grading and export packing. Late afternoon, board the 90-minute Periyar Lake boat cruise with chances of spotting wild elephants, bison, and shoreline birdlife. Departure from Kochi International Airport

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Cochin International Airport for your onward flight. KLM and connecting European carriers typically depart between mid-morning and afternoon slots.
