Overview

The 8 days Konark Sun Temple Tour hosted by Memorable India is about to make your Odisha trip the most memorable. Visiting Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, and Puri is like walking through time and experiencing the flavors of India’s diverse culture through its ancient temples, historic monuments, and stunning beach landscapes. These cities are not just a display of India’s merging of nature with the city, but are also a great way to enjoy the tour while staying connected to the cultural aspect of the trip.

The first stop on the journey is in Kolkata, the lively eastern metropolis that lies on the banks of the Hooghly River. It is a delight to experience the colonial heritage and crowded markets that co-exist in the city known for its leather, the traditional Tant saris, and mouth-watering sweets like rasgullas. One can welcome the day with an invigorating flower market visit and then rest in the tranquil Belur Math before soothing the soul with a boat ride on the Ganges to the beautiful Dakshineshwar Temple, where the goddess Bhavatarini lives. The day is then wrapped up with visits to the Kalighat temple, the book market, and the Jain temple, giving the cultural appetite a feast.

Subsequently, the journey heads to Bhubaneshwar, which is called the Temple City of India because of its more than 50 rock temples, and it is a very significant place for devotees of Hinduism. The temples of Rajarani and Lingaraj are marked as the main tourist attractions here with their awe-inspiring Kalinga-style architecture. Udayagiri, Khandagiri, and the Ashoka Peace Pagoda at Dhauli form the historical and spiritual sides of the story.

The Konark Sun Temple tour is the most amazing part of the trip to Puri, where the grand 13th-century Sun Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is seen at its best with the detailed stone pieces that describe art, culture, and myths. While on the way, travelers become acquainted with the crafts village at Pipli. Puri is itself known for the Jagannath Temple, which is one of the four main holy places of Hinduism, a.k.a. the Char Dham. It is a place where religious fervor can be felt, with the charm of the beautiful, golden sandy beaches.

Puri is then followed by the trip to the artistic village of Raghurajpur and charming Chilka Lake, Asia’s largest brackish water lagoon, where there are dolphins, migratory birds, and colorful local fishing villages. The tour finishes with some relaxed shopping in Bhubaneshwar before a comfy flight to Kolkata. This plan is the best way, hands down, to the heritage, spirituality, and natural beauty of the east of India.
