    Other Info

    • Clothes/shoes: For women we suggest wearing dress modestly; try to avoid provocative clothes on such as mini-skirts etc during sightseeing or temple visit. Removing shoes before entering a home is more a cultural rather than a religious tradition, it is important to know that some religions require removing shoes before entering a house of worship or a temple
    • Language: As long as you know English, there will be few communication issues in India. Most Indians know some English, however some will not be able to converse as fluently as you would prefer including taxi drivers, waiters, porters and hotel staff. This is where some basic Hindi words, phrases and sentences can come handy.
    • Tipping: Tipping (known as Baksheesh) is pretty uncommon in India. In fact most services, except for restaurants, won’t expect it. Even if you are under no obligation it’s always nice to leave a small gratuity for airport representatives, guides and driver.
