Overview

Varanasi, which is known for its vibrant culture, spiritual significance, and history, is located on the banks of the holy Ganges River. This city of temples is a major spiritual hub for Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism. Varanasi is renowned for its ghats, temples, and historical marvels. The name of this city comes from two rivers, Varuna and Assi, which border Varanasi. According to Hindu mythology, Varanasi is also known as “the third eye of Lord Shiva.”

Often called the land of “Creator and Destroyer”, yes, you heard it right, Varanasi holds a rich history that dates back to the Iron Age, making it one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities. To help you experience the spiritual essence and vibrant culture of Varanasi in just one day, we have designed a one-day tour that covers all the iconic sites and monuments without compromising on the quality of your journey. In the morning, enjoy a boat ride and sightseeing at the beautiful Banaras Ghat. The serene sunrise views of the landscapes will be one of the highlights of this journey. After your boat trip, explore the narrow lanes of the Godowliya Market. It has a lot to offer, from mouth-watering street food to the traditional Ayurvedic oil makers and perfume shops.

After that, we will visit the Durga Temple, dedicated to Goddess Durga, the Hindu deity of strength and power, who is believed to be protecting the people of Varanasi from evil. The vibrant red colour of the exteriors of this temple makes it different from the rest. After taking the blessings of the Goddess Durga, we will go to the Sarnath Temple, where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon to his five apostles, and the concept of Buddhism was established. After visiting the temples, we will head to explore sacred monuments in Varanasi, including Dharmeka Stupa, the Dharmajika Stupa, and the Chaukandi Stupa along with several monasteries.

In the evening, after visiting all the iconic and historical sites, witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. This unforgettable experience will be the perfect way to conclude your day tour.
