On this 8-days Golden Triangle of India trip with a visit to Ranthambore you will visit a city rich with history, another rich with culture and some amazing World Heritage sites. The 1000 year old fort at Ranthambore in the southeast Rajasthan has enjoyed the luxury of royalty, and faced the wrath of battle. Located in Sawai Madhopur district, a little over 100 km from the capital of the state Jaipur, the fort now stands as part of an enchanting landscape and speaks of a fascinating history. The Great Emperor Akbar once attempted to gain control over this fort but little did he know that tigers would rule here in the not so far future. With over 200 species of birds and various marsh water crocodiles, the fort is now part of the protected wildlife heaven called the Ranthambore National Park. The park is home to the national animal of India, the tiger and gives a unique opportunity to see the magnificent beast in a natural environment.
