Day 01: Kochi

The travelers can arrive at their own choice of time.

Arrival Day and Welcome Meeting

Southern India and East Coast by Rail adventure starts tonight. Relax and be ready for the adventure. You should ensure to be back in time and there will be a meeting with the entire group. There will be an introduction session in the evening. Then, your CEO will give you the details of your adventure.

Day 02: Kochi - Alleppey

Get into Ernad Express train and enjoy your travel to Alleppey. Explore backwaters in Kerala from Alleppey. The Kerala backwaters are a string of briny lagoons and lakes lying parallel to the Arabian Sea coast. You will get a chance to walk around the paddy fields. Enjoy a Canoe Surfing through the canals and it’s a preferred activity amid travelers in the region.

You can also learn about Swami Vivekananda who is regarded as a patriotic saint and he was a key figure in the introduction of the Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world. Ramakrishna Ashram is looked after by the Ramakrishna Mission.

Day 05: Madurai

Today, you can visit the Meenakshi Temple and explore beautiful markets seen in Madurai.

Visit Meenakshi Temple and enjoy the beauy of it. It is a fine example of South Indian religious architecture. It is a historic Hindu temple located in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Madurai is known as the temple city. The Meenakshi Temple is dedicated to Parvati, also recognized as Meenakshi. The temple is the main center of attraction of Madurai. Madurai is said to be a 2,500-year-old city. You can observe the massive stone walls, the nine striking gopurams that is enclosed with stucco figures of deities, fabled animals, and monsters. There are an expected 33,000 sculptures in the temple.

Day 07: Mamallapuram

Today, visit the Shore Temple. You can also explore Mamallapuram Beach.

Visit the Shore Temple. The temple is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The travelers can explore extraordinary monuments here and the monuments were carved during the 7th and 8th century. The temple is well known for its amazing view of the Bay of Bengal’s shore. This temple was built of granite.  The temple is dedicated to the Hindu gods, Vishnu and Shiva. It is one of the oldest structural stone temples of South India.

Mamallapuram Beach Visit Mamallapuram

Walk around the stunning Mamallapuram Beach. You can see fishermen going for fishing in their boats and coming back with fishes.

Day 10: Visakhapatnam - Puri

Get on to Puri Express train.  Enjoy the travel to Bhubaneshwar. Get into a van to reach Puri.

Day 11: Puri

Day 12: Puri - Kolkata

Get on to Shatabdi Express train in the morning and move to Kolkata. Lunch will be provided on the train. You will reach Kolkata in the afternoon. Make a visit to Mother Teresa’s house in the evening.

Day 13: Kolkata

Spend your time in Kolkata usefully. Located on the east bank of the River Hooghly, Kolkata was a colonial city developed by the British East India Company and then by the British Empire.  Getting around the city will help you to see some of the very old monuments and streets of Kolkata. Enjoy a boat ride across the Hooghly River. Don’t forget or be late to join the group for dinner at a famous restaurant on Park Street.
