With temples that are older than history has records for, Tamil Nadu is best known as the land of the Dravidian architecture. With ancient tradition, culturesand rituals still practiced today, we set out to explore the lands of South India. In this tour, we embark upon a memorable journey to dive into the history, tradition and culture of Tamil Nadu.

    Day By Day Itinerary

    • DAY 1

      Arrive at Chennai

      On arrival at the airport, you will be assisted by our representative from Memorable India to your hotel. After a freshening up we head for a sightseeing tour of Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. We will visit the Kapaleeshwar Temple, the Fort of St. George and the Government Museum. After a fun filled day, the evening is left for leisure, where you may also opt for visiting ‘Dakshinchitra’, a preserved rural village that can give you a fair idea of the lifestyle and the traditional homes that exist in the villages. We retire for an overnight stay at the hotel.

      Chennai - Mahabalipuram - Kanchipuram

      We head for Mahabalipuram after breakfast to witness the splendour of the Dravidian architecture. Known for its famous Shore Temples, Mahabalipuramis an excellent reservoir of Dravidian art and architecture. We later move to Kanchipuramto see the Kailashnatha Temple, another exquisite temple, after which we retire for an overnight stay at the hotel.

      Mahabalipuram

      Today the entire day is at leisure. You can either explore the city, shop or sit back and relax at the resort or on the sandy beach. We stay at the hotel for this night.

      Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry

      Today we head to Pondicherry, the land known for its splendid French styled buildings and churches. Overnight stay at the hotel.

      Pondicherry - Tanjore - Trichy

      After breakfast, we leave Pondicherry to travel to Trichy, home to many ornate temples that display the Dravidian architecture at its best. En route we stop over at Tanjore to visit the famous Brihadeshwara Temple, one of the oldest temples to exist on the face of the earth. In Trichy, we will visit the Rock Fort and the Srirangam Island, the epitome of ancient architecture and a temple town of South India. We retire for an overnight stay at the hotel.

      Trichy - Madurai

      After breakfast, we journey to the oldest city in southern India – Madurai. Known as one of the most sacred places for Hindu pilgrimage, Madurai is famous for its breath taking temples that have stood through the sands of time. Here, we will also visit the ruins of the TirumalNayak Palace and tour the renowned Meenakshi Temple.

      Madurai

      In case you are exhausted with all the travelling you can take this day off and spend it leisurely at the hotel. Else, a full day excursion is available as an option. Either ways, we will stay in Madurai for this night.
