Important Notes for The Glory of Rajasthan

    • Start your days early to make the most of daylight – Some monuments close by late afternoon, so an early start helps you experience more without feeling rushed.
    • Pack layers to suit Rajasthan’s temperature swings – Mornings and evenings can be cool, especially in desert regions, even when days are warm.
    • Wear comfortable footwear for walking tours – Forts and old town areas involve uneven paths and staircases, so cushioned, closed shoes are ideal.
    • Respect temple customs and dress codes – Carry a shawl or scarf for temple visits and dress modestly when exploring religious or rural areas.
    • Stay hydrated, especially during desert visits – Keep a reusable water bottle or carry sealed bottled water during outdoor excursions.
    • Sun protection is highly recommended – Sunglasses, a wide-brimmed hat, and SPF are helpful when sightseeing in open and sunny spaces.
    • Carry cash for local shopping and tipping – Many local shops and craft stalls in Bikaner, Jaipur, and Jaisalmer operate on cash-only transactions.
    • Photography may be restricted at select sites – Look out for signage and always ask before photographing people or inside temples and museums.
    • Markets tend to open late morning – If shopping is part of your plan, schedule market visits post 10:30 AM for the best experience.
    • Tipping is customary but not mandatory – Guides, drivers, and hotel porters will appreciate a small tip if you’re satisfied with the service.
    • Carry a valid ID during internal travel – Train stations and some monument entries may require identification, so it’s best to keep a copy with you.
    • Always double-check camel safari timings – Sunset rides in Jaisalmer are best when booked in advance to avoid last-minute unavailability.
    • Mobile networks may vary across regions – Desert and rural areas like Sam Sand Dunes or Ranakpur may have limited signal, so plan accordingly.
    • Guides appreciate early communication of preferences – If you have dietary restrictions or physical limitations, letting your guide know early helps tailor your day.
    • Avoid street food unless recommended by your guide – Rajasthan has rich cuisine, but for health reasons, stick to clean, trusted eateries or hotel recommendations.
    • ATMs are available in major cities only – While Delhi, Jaipur, and Udaipur are well-equipped, carry cash before entering smaller towns.
    • Avoid over packing for ease of mobility – Since you will be traveling to six destinations, light luggage ensures convenience and flexibility.
    • Travel insurance is advisable for international visitors – Though rare, delays or health-related issues are best managed when you’re insured during the tour.
    • Leisure time is included intentionally – Use these breaks to rest or explore nearby cafes, museums, or artisan shops at your own pace.
    • Embrace the slow moments – Rajasthan is best experienced unhurried — sometimes, the quiet sunset or chai in a courtyard becomes the highlight of your day.

Best Time to Go for The Glory of Rajasthan

October to March – Peak Travel Season

The best time to explore this 9-day Rajasthan tour is between October and March when the weather is most comfortable. Days are sunny but not harsh, while evenings remain cool — perfect for desert excursions and long city walks. Destinations like Jodhpur, Jaipur, Udaipur, and Jaisalmer feel especially alive during these months, with cultural festivals and local markets in full swing. Camel rides across the Thar, boat rides on Lake Pichola, and fort visits become both scenic and pleasant in this period.

April to June – For the Offbeat Traveller

These months mark the onset of summer in Rajasthan, with rising temperatures across the region. While not a traditional travel season, this period offers an excellent opportunity for those looking for peace and solitude. Tourist traffic is low, and hotels often offer seasonal discounts. If you plan to book Rajasthan family tour packages in the summer, it is best to keep activities light during the afternoons and enjoy indoor sites like museums or palace interiors in the heat of the day.

July to September – Monsoon Calm

The monsoon months bring a gentle transformation to the otherwise arid landscape of Rajasthan. Cities like Udaipur and Jaipur receive intermittent rainfall, lending the palaces and gardens a romantic, rain-washed charm. While desert destinations such as Jaisalmer might receive less rainfall, this is still an ideal time for travellers interested in a relaxed, reflective journey with fewer crowds. The hills of Aravalli turn greener, adding contrast to the golden fort walls — a lovely surprise for those choosing Rajasthan vacation packages during this season.

    Festive Windows – Cultural Depth

Diwali in Jaipur, the Desert Festival in Jaisalmer, and the Mewar Festival in Udaipur make certain dates especially vibrant and culturally rich. If you plan to book a Jaipur Jaisalmer Jodhpur Udaipur tour around these events, it is advised to reserve your spot well in advance. These festivals bring together music, dance, local cuisine, and traditional performances, offering a deeper look into Rajasthan’s soul beyond its architecture and scenery.
