You are about to embark on a truly intriguing journey through the majestic state of Karnataka, which is also known as the Cradle of Stone Architecture. The Golden Chariot train is named after the famous stone chariot in Hampi, a world heritage site in Southern India and it will take you on a voyage through the everlasting historical heritage sites, the magnificent palaces, wildlife and glorious beaches. The 7 nights / 8 days journey begins every Monday from Bangalore and takes you through Mysore, visiting Srirangapatna and the Mysore Palace, the Nagarhole National Park in Kabini, on to Shravanbelagola, Belur (the world heritage site boasting Hoysala architecture), Halebidu, Hampi, on to the triangular heritage sites of Badami, Pattadakal, Aihole and finally to the sunny, sandy beaches of Goa, before returning to Bangalore.

Day 01: Bangalore
Check in at the Taj West End, Bangalore, followed by high tea, a brief presentation and a cultural program. Arrival at 8:00pm at Yeshwantpur Railway Station and after a brief welcome, you will be shown to your cabins. Dinner served on board and train departs at 9:00pm.
Day 02: Kabini / Bandipur
Arrive early morning at Mysore and after breakfast, pack for overnight stay at Kabini lodge. The Kabini Forest reserve is 2½ Hrs from Mysore. Following lunch is an excursion to the Nagarhole Tiger Reserve.
Day 03: Mysore
Srirangapatnam sightseeing - Dariya Daulat, Tipu mausoleum and drive through the fort.
Day 04: Hassan
We leave for Shravanbelagola in the morning, where we climb uphill to view the astonishing 17m high monolith of the Jain monk, Gomateshwara. Later we visit the beautiful temples of Halebidu and Belur built by the Hoysala kings in the 12th century.
Day 05: Hampi
Hampi is the capital city of the Vijayanagara Empire and a famous world heritage site. The ruin of the Palace, which spans acres, is breathtaking. We visit the 15th century Vittala temple which boasts a number of gigantic granite pillars and the famous Stone Chariot.
Day 06: Badami
We visit the 6th century cave temples of Badami, built out of sand stone on a cliff. There has a spectacular carving of Lord Shiva as the cosmic dancer, Nataraja, with 16 hands. We then visit Pattadakal, a temple built in the 8th century, which is a perfect blend of Dravidian and Indo - Aryan architecture styles.
Day 07: Goa
We visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of 16th century Portuguese churches and spend the afternoon at the sea-side resort.
Day 08: Bangalore
The train arrives at Yeshwantpur Railway Station, Bangalore at 11am. Upon arrivals, the guests check out of the tour.
