Make sure that you carry dry snacks, biscuits, dry fruits, milk powder etc. You can also carry easy to make meals like rice or noodles that can be made by mixing hot water. Avoid eating at the road-side cafes. Foreigners are not used to Indian food and this can result in health issues. Instead of disposable plates etc you can carry steel plates etc.
Remember that alcohol is strictly prohibited in this sacred journey. A heavy fine is imposed by Uttarakhand police if they find anyone carrying or drinking alcohol.
In remote places, it may not be possible to find wifi and other technology. So have a local phone with Indian sim with you as this will make it easy for you to call someone in case of emergency.
Always have a small diary which has all the important personal numbers as well as emergency numbers like police etc.
Make sure that the use of the camera is allowed in the places and only then use your camera. Make sure that you do not hurt the sentiments of the people. Also, make sure that you carry extra batteries for your phone as well as your camera.
It is important that you keep yourself hydrated by drinking lots of water. But avoid drinking water from local hotels as if it is not clean it can result in stomach problems and other health issues. Always drink packaged or boiled drinking water.

The areas where you are going to travel are remote. You may find it impossible to make any digital transactions in these remote places. Though good hotels will accept cards it is always better to carry enough Indian currency with you in order to avoid any problems.
