The park is spread over an area of 392 square kilometer housing about 30 mammal species, 275 bird species, 12 reptile species and 350 plant species. Sprawling over the Aravali and Vindhya ranges, this National Park has diverse flora and fauna and is considered to be one of the best tiger reserves in the country. The major wildlife of this park includes panthers, leopards, chitals, sambars, chinkara, sloth bear, jackal, wild boars, mongoose, Indian hare, monitor lizards and a varied species of colorful birds. Mostly, Ranthambore National Park is heaven for the royal Bengal tigers.

Jogi Mahal

The Jogi Mahal is a forest house lying close to the park. An ancient banyan tree is there in Jogi Mahal which is believed to be the second largest banyan tree in the country and hence the place holds an unique significance. Situated near the Padam Talab, this mahal attracts numerous tourists every year from different parts of the world.

Ranthambore Fort

The Ranthambore fort was built in 10th century AD. Regarded as one of the most noteworthy forts, the fort is endowed with a number of temples, tanks, gates and huge walls. It is said that the royal women of Ranthambore performed Jauhar (self immolation) ,  when Muslim ruler Ala-ud-din-Khilji invaded this fort. Due to its historical significance, it is popular as a major tourist destination in Ranthambore.

Kachida Valley

This valley is situated near the outskirts of the Ranthambore National Park. A large number of panther populations can be seen in this valley surrounded by rocky hills. You can also have a view of some sloth bears here in this valley.

Ganesh Temple

The Ranthambore tiger reserve houses one of the famous Ganesh Temple in Rajasthan. Devotees come from far and near to offer prayers during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival every year which makes this place an important pilgrimage site.
