If you are on a trip to Rajasthan, make sure to visit Sariska National Park in the Alwar district which is one of the must-visit places in Rajasthan. It is the second-best Tiger reserve in Rajasthan where tigers roam freely. This beautiful national park spreads across an area of 881 km. The park is a part of both Aravalli Range and Kathiawar-Gir dry deciduous forests ecozone.
The Medieval temple dated back to the 10th and 11th centuries is one of the main tourist attractions of the Sariska national park. There is also a fort on the Kankwari hill belonging to the 17th century.
The Jungle safari is another major attraction of the Sariska national part. Time taken to complete the safari is approximately 3 hours. Based on the number of people and budget you can choose the safari vehicle which is jeep and canter. During vacation time getting tickets to safari is a bit difficult so it is advisable to book a month in advance.
The national park is open from the month of October to May.
Safari ticket price for national citizens is 80 rupees per head for Indians and for other nationals 470 rupees per head. Extra charges for the camera which will be 400 rupees.
Jaipur airport is the nearest airport to the national park located at a distance of 100km and the Sariska railway station is the nearest railways service to the park. From there, you can arrive at the park either through local government service or hire a taxi.
The national park is also famous for the Hanuman temple. Only on Tuesday and Saturday visitors can bring their own vehicles, other days visitors should visit the temple in the vehicles provided by the park.
